I just like to know when did you first change your oil? What was the type of the oil and more details about it? And clarify if your car is a V8 or a V6

2013 2LT i had it the synthetic blend. at about 2600 miles. 61% on the oil life meter

Changed my oil at 500 miles. It is a L99. Used Castrol Edge and K&N filter. I am now usoing Royal Purple.

No sense being nuts about it imo.

I'm coming up on the 1500 mile mark soon with my SS and I'll be on my 3rd oil change:

18- 118: 1st hundred miles was I changed to conventional (most important time of break in period)
118-618: Next 500 was with Mobil 1 (after this your car is broken in, 1500 miles is a precauction written by attorneys)
518- 1618: The next 1K was with Mobil 1 (After this one I will change every 4K with either Mobil 1 on Pennzoil Platinum)

Also added a magnetic plug during the 1st change.

Oil is cheap insurance for your engine!

First one at 3000 miles , switched to mobil 1 .

I think it was between 6 and 7k. I wait until I am near 0% oil life, or 1 year, whichever comes first, which is what the manual says to do.

I get the same factory dexos 1 blend that it came with from the dealership.

Took mine to the dealer at 3,500 miles and they refused to change my oil, said not sooner than 7,500 miles for the first oil change on an SS.

So I bought an AC Delco Oil Filter and 2 jugs of Mobil One 5-30 and changed it at home.
