I sold my 2nd Gen when we had kids and regretted it the next day. Took me 30 years to replace it, and you are never really able to replace your first Camaro. :-) I won't make the same mistake again - one of my grandkids will get this car.
This is so many of the comments+advice you guys offer is gold. Thank you!

I have a 6 and 5 year old and while the Camaro is not the ideal family car it works when needed. However we do have a second vehicle that is family friendly.
I've had people tell me what I should be driving because I have a family but I think they're jealous.

The shop solved all of the problems:

Agree with pyroguy the gremlins with all those lights on will come out with a weak battery.

As a New Yorker, I very much appreciate my dear neighbor to the north, this reason included.

Guess who's back

Shop stated that regular manual checking of oil rather than relying on the computer percentage could have prevented carbon build up & timing chain problems, which are known issues for this gen Camaro.

That poor wagon Camaro. Probably cost a lot of money to make it look like crap too.
The appreciation is reciprocated. I see you're in NY... I have a family gathering every summer in Kenmore NY. My wife and I spent our honeymoon in NYC and loved it.

Anyone who tells you that your "glory days have passed" are simply jealous. Tell them to f themselves. Take the car back to the dealer or a good shop until its fixed. You can drive that baby another 200,000 miles with care. Don't drive it in the salt, keep up on your maintenance. And get your family the SUV to shut everyone up. You can have both.
