Damage to Car Before Delivery
I ordered a 2018 2SS. It finally came in and I went down to the Dealer and paid for it, did paperwork, etc. I got them to throw in window tinting so I left the car there, never taking delivery. When I went back to get it, it had damage to the front bumper and panel (See Pic). Of course they said they will fix it, but I'm thinking it will never really be the same as new. I paid for a new car, not one with repaired body damage. Any thoughts?

wtf. Id be asking for a quite a bit more than a repair. Free oil changes for life and an extended 100k warranty would do it for me lol.

What state are you in? Some states allow you a number of days to return a car and get out of it without any issues - if the dealer doesn’t make this right for you I would be considering that route!

I understand how you feel. However, the reality is that there are many, many cars on lots that have had this kind of repair work done to it long before it's sold. Cars get damaged in transit, or sitting on the lot all the time.
Just make sure everything is documented. Don't take possession of the car until it is fixed to your satisfaction. Tell them you want them to make the first payment for you to compensate for the lost time. |

you can “unwind” the deal, as dealers call it, the car and money are not totally transacted.
walk away, you can find many cars out there these days.... |

Hard to see over the hood/fenders of these car and see where the car ends and obstacle begins... apparently someone at the dealer found out the hard way.
I don't know what I would do but probably some kind of compensation for your time and inconvenience would be nice. |

Did you look at it before signing the paperwork and then got damaged afterward or did they try to get everything done and never presented a chance to look over it before delivery?

If you want a vehicle that hasn't been repaired from the start, demand a different vehicle.

i would tell them to eat that car and get you another one.
New is new is new... You didnt pay for a new car that had a new fender and front bumper cover plus repaint... you paid for a new, unblemished car. |

That is what I would do! Repaint is not the same as factory paint!

I would "unwind" the deal if you can.
Even if the dealer did a perfect job on the repair the repair may showup on your VIN in the future. Also first question I ask when searching for a late model pre-owned car is has vehicle had any paint or bodywork. If the answer is yes I move on to another car.

Never sign or hand over anything until you looked over the car with fine tooth comb on a bright sunny day.
Hopefully the dealer makes this right. |

I'd walk away from that unless they go above and beyond to make it right, that is fix the issue so it's like new and than other incentives. I've seen some dealerships do $2,000 in GM accessories or something like that.

They won't do much. They can repair the car and sell it for new.
