Dual Climate Control - Airflow not the same temperature

I have a 2017 ZL1 and sometimes with both temperature settings being set equal, cool air will come out of one side and warm air out of the other. If I adjust the passenger side down 3-4 degrees, then they blow the same temp air.

Is there an adjustment that can be made to calibrate the system?

Bugs me when my hand is on the gearshift and I am hit with warm and cool air from each side.

does it do this the whole time? Could it be a bit of heat soak in one side until the cooler air can equalize the temp of the tubes?

Mine is doing the same thing? Plus I have noticed I have set the temp to some outrageous level to get heat?

Mine does the same thing and told them about it when I had it in for the transmission flush and fill for the shudder. Went with ride with tech and he had one of those laser temp readers and he showed me that it was switching from side to side trying to get the mix right and it was normal.

I think that "It's normal" is the corporate line, they should go ahead and put that in their commercials.

I would like to get rid of all this electronic climate control crap and just have manual controls.

Does your climate control system have the SYNC button to sync both sides?

3-4 degrees is a bit much, but probably within the design margin of the system. If you feel it on the back of your hand, it may be more of a difference. I would get a probe thermometer and see what you can measure. You can use a laser pointer IR device too, but the probe is very cheap. Make a video to show the dealer with the thermometer in different ducts and the system set to same temperature.

When it is on SYNC it will blow out noticeably different temperature air. The only way to get it to match is to manually adjust each sides.

Really the whole climate control system is a joke. Mine has been in 3 times for air conditioner not working, fogging windows, and mismatched temperatures.

This does happen with the "Sync" on. One side warm air and one side cool so it's very obvious. Definitely not a situation that one side of the car is heat soaked, happens at night too. The whole electronic thing is BS in my opinion. One side reads the air temp differently than the other which makes the whole digital thing useless.

Bad temperature sensor on the inaccurate side - they're known to fail.

FYI I haven't had a fogging windshield since enabling the afterblow feature.

I dont think this is a fault - the sensor measures the temperature of the person in each seat and adjusts accordingly. I know this because we just noticed it recently as well - my wife was in the passenger seat and her vents (passenger side) were noticeably warmer than my vents (drivers side) and the temp was set the same. We traded sides without changing anything - once she was in the drivers seat the drivers side was noticeably warmer than the passenger side.

Keep in mind that the temp setting is not the temp of the air coming out of the vents but the target temp of the driver or the passenger. Like when you set your house air to 72 - the system is designed to get your ambient air temp to 72, not push 72 degree air out of the vents.

🤣 WTF!! Your kidding right heard on internet must be true? How you suppose this occurs sensors location etc?? These cars have a lot of technology but not enough to tell individual person temperatures sitting in seat. This difference likely came from y’all opening door and switching sides.. good one I needed a 😂
