Many thanks to Mike Judge (Super60) and the rest of the team at Oshawa assembly.
They brought the Camaro back with a bang. The folks there built one of the best cars in GM's long history. I hope whatever is next for them is just as fulfilling and satisfying as building the awesome car that the 5th gen Camaro is. Congrats & thanks!!

Great car that brought Camaro back and made it successful again. The 5th Gen established itself as a sales and performance force not only in the marketplace but inside GM and carved out and built its own foundation Of which future Camaro will live on. Many thanks.

The 5th Gen was a Pontiac/Holden platform, Corvette drivetrain (SS) and Cadillac (V6). The 6th Gen is a Cadillac platform, Corvette drivetrain (SS) and Cadillac (V6 and 2.0T). Even the original Camaro was a "mutt" with the Fbody being evolved from the Nova/Chevy II (IIRC). Even your ZL1 has a Cadillac motor (the LSA) on a Pontiac platform...it's not "purebred" or whatever that means. If "purebred" is having it's own dedicated platform and motor designed only for it..then the Mustang is the only "purebred" car in the segment, both the Camaro and Challenger have sedan roots with engines designed for other cars. |

The 5th Gen will be the mutt of the run , when you look back at history. The 6th gen continues the history in the USA with the 50th anniversary coming up it's gonna be a great time to be a Camaro fan , welcome back to America !

Chevy has made this car such an amazing success because the people they have running their programs also LOVE these cars. Build by smart enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. When you love your job, you don't work a day in your life... |

The 5th gen is a warmed over mid-2000's Holden. It's a 2007 Pontiac G8 sedan with 2 doors. Only certain trims, the Z/28 and ZL1, will ever be considered icons in the future. Those of us who followed the re-birth of the Camaro from the day Rick Wagoner announced it was coming back in 2006 have know all along that while it's a cool car, it was not a game changer. There was only so much GM engineers could do to the old Zeta platform to make it modern. The 6th gen is an all new car on a 3 year old platform. Technology, performance, chassis, design....... blows the 5th gen away. It's like going from a Motorola StarTac flip phone to an iPhone 6 plus. Please do your homework before making another comment on it. |
