Supercharger

I want to push the go of my V8 camaro. I want to do a supercharger but nothing crazy. I know getting a bigger cam would do at least another 100hp but I'm looking to push at least a good 150hp more. So I want a supercharger or a procharger but I don't know which to get or what brand to use. Can anyone give me any advise.

Try the forced induction section. I have an ECS kit which I love, but the others are all good as well.

Check out LethalCamero's YouTube channel. He went procharger and gives it a thumbs up.

Supercharging is by far the most cost effective power adder, and Procharger is a good choice, we are a Procharger dealer, I would be happy to answer all of your questions you can post them here and we can start a discussion that will benefit anyone in your position.

Ted.

I say centrifugal over roots all the way, procharger is safer man and holds most the record numbers.

If I was in your shoes I would get the LT4 supercharger and conversion kit. Look up ADM performance on this forum and contact Andy. The other choices are fine but cost more money. Most of the forced induction kits out there can supply more airflow than your stock LT1 engine can handle. You need to make some expensive fuel system upgrades to get all of the performance most of the superchargers are capable of and then you run the risk of breaking a piston. I would do the LT4 supercharger and call it good.

Yes, yes we do.

And for the savings over some other kits, it allows you to save $$$ and get yourself wheels, or headers, or converter and still be $$$ ahead.

This is solid advice.

I went with the Whipple unit and had a lot of pain along the way. In hind sight I probably would do a Procharger build or Maggie. The main reason I would prob go the Procharger is when the power kicks in. My Whipple is nuts all the time and while amazing FUN... it also wants to go all the time even while trying to drive casual. I'm not the expert like a lot of the other guys here just sharing my own experience. With all that said prob Procharger for me as a do over. But if PD... Maggie.

The LT4 conversion kit sounds like a great cost effective choice as well. I paid around 8K for my shiny Red Whipple and I think that full LT4 kit is just over 5K...that price difference could have been a full headers and exhaust added in to my build.

I must say that I still haven't seen a procharger or whipple that you can just go right to the track on the first pass and go 10.82@129.88 with a stock pulley and drag pack with the stock hand held tune. I did it and have since made only fuel changes, pulley changes and went 10.37@133 at the ls fest. No converter, stock exhaust and full weight. Yes the Prochargers have run some killer times, but they are heavily modded to get into the 9's such as HogWilds, etc. Last weekend in the heat my car went over 136 mph so its making great power and then take the drag pack off and put the street tires on and get 25 mpg on the hwy like I did on the power tour. Procharger does hold some records now and they are bad mofo's no doubt, but expect to do additional mods to get where I'm at right now with just a few mods over stock. So, you have some decisions to make and I hope you choose the Magnuson 2300. Good luck

Trust me you made a fine choice, as far as the onset of power, We can calm that down in the tune.
