Nitrogen in tires

Do you guys just put air in the tires when you have to or take it to the dealer for nitrogen top off? My friend that is a chevy tech says the dealer just puts regular air in and says it's nitrogen.

If you get it free , then ok, but never pay for it. A total dealer profit builder....

The atmosphere is 3/4 nitrogen. I always thought it was a rip off too.

Mine came with nitrogen for free from the dealer. I fill my own air at home so I just put just good ole free and natural air in the tires. For me nitrogen is a gimmick.,

Nitrogen is an inert gas but in order for it to be effective in tires the way they make it out to be then all the air inside the tire has to be pumped out using a vacuum pump..... even a fully deflated tire on the rim has air inside it yet i have never seen anyone pump down a tire before filling..... i just dont think its possible to get all the air out. In which case i feel using nitrogen is just a waste of money.

The air we breath is 78% nitrogen. I would never pay to put air in my tire.

Did they tell you that you should get blinker fluid, too? It is a scam.

I've decided to fill my tires with hydrogen, but now nobody can smoke near my car.

Fill them with nitroglycerin when you park. That way any time someone tries to steal your car they won’t get far.

You should change out the air in your tires every season or so. Old air can get stale and start to attack the rubber lining material inside the tires.

That's what a guy at a tire shop told me once.
