well there was a time right as the 17's were being brought to the dealerships that the 16 models were discounted as much as 20%. That on top of any sort of private discounts could easily get you in the mid 20's.

Sticker for my 2017 1LT A8 was $31k (not RS). Mine was a manager's special (dealership demo car, had about 3k miles on it), I got it for $27k. She was probably used and abused in her early life but so far everything is perfect so...yay. Just in case, the dealership extended my B2B for an extra year.

I would suggest buying one a year old. If I had to do it again I would let someone else take the 30-40% first year depreciation. Dealer trade in depreciation is closer to 50% first year.

2016 V6 RS. 6400mi, A8, tech pkg, 20" wheels, Bose pkg. Was a GM buyback, sent to MI checked and no problems found then shipped back to CA. It has the lemon law stamp on the title but for $20,090.... I ain't bitchin. The risk paid off and have had 0 issues with this sweet ride.

I have only seen one post in another thread that I could practically guarantee was bogus. Some of the prices posted may seem impossible right now because we are in summer selling season. The deals happen (if) and when the 20% bonus tags drop this fall.
Here is the exact breakdown of what I paid in December 2016: MSRP $30,140.00 -20% Red Tag 6,028.00 Internet Price $ 24,112.00 My offer (accepted) $21,000.00 ($9,140 discount off MSRP) 6.25% Tax 1312.50 Ad Valorem Tax 46.12 Title Fee 28.00 State Inspection 7.00 2 year license plate 160.50 Doc Fee 150.00 Total $22,704.12 Cashier's Check The only fee I choked on was the $150 doc fee but Texas has a weird deal with the TADA. |

Some maybe but if you bought before the first 20% off the cost difference between a 1lt RS and a 1SS was 9k to 12k difference. Even now in my area a 1SS is 36k to 39k.
Some people on here are misleading also, because a 16 1lt RS with tech package was 35k so to get that car to 26k or 27k had to include the down payment and all the discounts. |
