Well my brakes are Brembo Stock, they are just not the 6 Piston Red. They are the 4 Piston Black calipers.

If you have a cheaper alternative that would look just as good. I'm not just painting the black Brembo calipers red... It's not the same. That might work for some and that's great, but I don't want just painted calipers. You won't have and of the Brembo Performance or any of the letteing on them as the OEM Brembo's do. Uless you are an amazing hand painter to paint the lettering after the fact. I'm not concerned about the $$ and I doubt the weight is going to really make a major difference.

Why don't you find out the part number for the 4 piston Red front and back Brembos and just put those on, you won't have to change rotors OR pads...
I have the Red 4 Piston Brembos on my 2SS front and back... Gives you the look you want without the $2500+ expense!

Not following this. Can you elaborate? Quote:
The 6 piston performance front brake package only weighs ~3lbs more than the base LS floating caliper and 12.6" rotor. That's less than a 1% increase in weight. Not going to be noticeable in any way. Also, the 6 piston setup is the same weight as the 4 piston LT1/SS front package. Nigel |

The car already has a 54:46 weight distribution, and some people want to make it worse for no reason associated with braking performance (okay, not much worse, but still a 6+ lbs change in the wrong direction).
What's more, they're okay with spending $2-2.5k plus labor just to have red calipers painted in the factory and not by a(n equally professional) paint shop that will yield 100% equivalent or even better results, after all, that white or black brembo decal isn't handcrafted and the shop can clearcoat the entire surface. It's totally fine, of course, everyone does whatever they want with their car, and I'm sure my mods can also be criticized ("why didn't you just get the ZL1" etc.) Just makes it difficult to reason about, that's all.

i had no idea red calipers did so much for people, regardless of performance.

The front 4 piston & front 6 piston don't look all that much different, I've seen them side by side...

6 lbs on a 3700lb car is meaningless. Most people carry at least that much around just in random junk in the car (or themselves!). Quote:
To be clear, red calipers are only $395 (installed). The $2+k is for 6 piston calipers and the floating rotors. Nigel |
