How long do you plan to keep your Camaro vs Driving in the elements?

Just like title says, how long? I saw more of the usual "discussion" of driving in the winter the the usual polarizing opinions of "how DARE you take it out in the elements!?!/It's just a car, drive it already!".

I'm always in the camp of I own it to drive it. But also to me its always been, while a really great car, still just...a car. I came into it really excited but with the expectation that I'm not keeping this thing for the rest of my life. I'll enjoy it for probably ~5 years, then trade it in on something newer to enjoy again.

Always wonder that has an impact.

Its also my 3rd car. Highschool to college had 1994 Chrysler Lebaron, bought my first new car, a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT, then traded in for my Camaro. Maybe people who it is their first car or they are older and is their "last" sporty car? Maybe I'm at a spot in my car-buying life where it just isn't as important?

In May '09 when I ordered my 2010 SS, I said I was going to keep it stock and keep it forever. Fast forward 3 and a half years and $10k+ in mods later and it's sitting on the dealer's used lot. I'll say the the same for my ZL1 vert, LOL! And I typically drive them on trips and weekends during summer.

See, I think that happens to a lot of people. My father in law had an awesome (for a Ford) Mustang GT. In 2 years put like 1000 miles on it or something ridiculous. Then traded it in, and never really got to enjoy the thing. On a smaller scale I had a buddy and his gf buy me a knive with stuff engraved on the blade when I graduated college. Instead of storing it away on some shelf to pay attention to it for 2 weeks then forget about it, I carried it and used it and showed it off for a few years. It got beat up but I got to love it daily. I have a Gibson Les Paul guitar I bought in highschool. It is beat to SHIT, but I love it that way. Every mark is some memory of some practice or cool show I played back in the day. Guitar people are like car people in a lot of respects regarding their toys.

I dunno, I guess I'm not that sentimental about stuff. I personally get more out of day to day use that the IDEA of some really nice thing staying that way. That make sense?

Used as a Daily Driver, all my past DD's have hit 200k miles or more, so this one has to do the same!

I plan on keeping my Camaro for as long as I can (for me hopefully that means for the rest of my life). My Camaro is my first car and is everything I wanted.

'' Keeping this thing for the rest ,bla, bla ,bla'' , it's like ones first girlfriend , ''forever and ever kind a stuff'' .
Come on now , it's very rare % that this happen to anyone , let alone not to add a second one or more along the way .

I'm keeping both of mine long enough for them to become rusted out, mullet wearing, white trash mobiles that the Camaro has been known to be since the 70's.

I keep my cars a long time. I drove my 47 willys jeep for 10+ years. I plan on letting my grandson drive me to the nursing home he chooses for me before I turn over the Camaro keys.
The Camaro isn't a "garage queen" but it gets stored from Nov - April regardless because I have my 4x4 pickup (had it for 8 years now) and for winter driving, it's the right tool for the job.

Other: wait to see what the 6th gen looks like or find a Corvette that suits me.
