Gas warning

Like to see some feed back on this.

Is it true? If it is; its scary stuff and proof that you must watch out for yourself.

Yeah, you have to have the Flex fuel motor in your vehicle to run this fuel......I've don't think I have ever seen a gas station around here that has E15.......besides with our cars.....there are a great percentage that only use high octane fuel anyway so no one will attempt it anyway.

They say its extremely harmful to small engine and marine applications.....thats the first warning I heard.

Unbelievable what they are putting out there knowing the end result. Really makes you think about the E10 that we are using in some cars. I wouldn't think that 5% ethanol difference would create that much of a problem. I've heard of small engine problems, lawn mowers 4 wheelers etc., having problems if you don't use the additive for ethanol fuel. My neighbors riding mower has had to get the fuel system completely rebuilt twice because of it.
Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, Chevy makes their engines to run on flex fuel... E85 (85% ethanol).......not positive that its all motors made in GM cars, but I know they have had them available for a little while......my '06 Tahoe has a flex fuel motor.

Since 10% didn't seem to cause tooo many problems there was supposed to be a big push to go to 15% ethanol fuel across the country, but I think it went by the way side because they found out it would cause problems in older and smaller motor applications especially in boats, lawn mowers, etc.....

The pumps here dont offer E15 per se but there is a label on most pumps that say the gas may contain up to 10 or 15% ethanol...seems like the same thing. Ive always thought it was shady and only purchase the 93 octane clearly labeled NON-ETHANOL.

I stopped buying gas from Shell or any major seller this year. I now only purchase ethanol free gas from a local place about 5 minutes from me.

Do not put 15% in your 06.....check owners manual...only 10% max in flex engines...13s maybe ok??....this corn gas will also mess up your small engines and boat motors etc...be sure to run an additive with the corn gas for your small engines...
