I didn't get a chance to read thru all of the comments...but I did feel that I should respond to the first post.....

Let's go back to the late summer of 2008 - when we were filming a performance video at Spring Moutain (NV) -- and I had a group of pre-production Camaros at the track to film.

We had a bunch of Corvettes -- just about every model -- and about a half- dozen Camaros....... One was a VIN in the first 10 saleable Camaros. It was a Silver LS with a manual transmission - no options whatsoever. I had an opportunity to take it out on the track as the sun was going down. Now -- mind you, we were not quite finished with the (for lack of a better term as it's late as I post this...) electronics for throttle tip-in -- so the experience wasn't perfect...but after driving many different versions of the intended 5th gen - I got a big grin on my face - because the $22,995 Camaro was an absolute BLAST to drive around the track........no options whatsoever......

There will always be a "new kid on the block" that promises untold experiences......and my intention is not to take anything away from the C7 - because it is AMAZING.............what I AM doing is to attempt to slow people down a bit and to make them think.

The C7 is a magnificent car - but, so is the 5th gen Camaro!

Another thing to keep in mind: we are never "done" -- the team will NEVER be satisfied.........

Make no mistake - the C7 is an incredicble Automobile - and when you get a chance to drive it, you'll understand what I'm saying.........
THAT SAID.........the Camaro - at its price point - is still one of the world's best automotive values!..................

My most sincere congratulations to Tadge and Tom and Harlan and John and the entire group that makes up "Team Corvette" - you've done everyone proud!

If you don't want something coming along to steal your thunder, better go Veyron Super Sport. Even then, something is going to come along eventually.

That and on a 48 month finance your payments would be $44K a month.

The new Vette is pretty slick in my opinion, but if I got pissed every time someone released a bigger, badder, faster car, I might forget how much fun my SS is.

I voted no just simply because of this. The Corvette and Camaro are two different animals with two different purposes.

Nope. I'm sure a lot of you will think that I'm crazy, but even if the new Vette was the same price as the Camaro, I still wouldn't want it over the Camaro. I'm just a Camaro guy, not a Vette guy.

Same here! It was all '45th AE' hype until the ZL1 was announced...then the COPO...then the HotWheels edition. Now the C7. It's just the flavor of the month.

Am I concerned? What? Can't hear you! I'm having too much fun in my 45!

Just remember, the awesome things they put on the Corvette will makes its way down into the Camaro. Just wait for your 450/450 LTx engine in your SS.

We are happy to hear you love the new Corvette! Let us know what you think of what's to come.

I wish I had the money to afford and buy a new Corvette, and be able to drive it like a Camaro.

4th gens havent turned my head since the 5th gen came out unless they are REALLY nice. The 5th gen is such a drastic make over from the 4th that it just makes the 4th gen look that much more outdated. Hopefully when the 6th gen comes out it will be more like when the LS1 came out after the LT1. LT1's still turned my head at that time.

Bottom line, two great cars. Makes GM happy because you'll be spending your money on another GM product.
