Really never liked the front end or rear of the C7. I actually like the front end of the C8, however the rear, although better, still needs some improvement.

I do hope that a future performance version fills out the fender gap and wheels better, similar to the 1LE's. To me, that is the only thing cosmetically that seems a bit off.
The wheel/tire sizes tuck in too much on the base and Z51 models. It would look better with 265/315's F/R with matching increase in wheel width.

I agree though, it would not be possible with the ZL1 1LE layout which pokes out past the wheel wells a little.

19x10 and 19/20X12 will be on these cars in no time,. Lots of room. Camaro has a 8.5" up front and we are seeing 10.5" and 11" up front.
Just like Camaro, they are saving the bigger wheels for the future Z06 or whatever they will call the next killer 'Vette

I am loving absolutely everything I am seeing so far for the corvette aside from the climate controls button. It looks a bit too much like an afterthought. Also... I am not sure if this has been brought up before but one of my first thoughts was holy shit this thing is going to be NASTY cammed... and then I saw the layout of the engine. Is it just me or does it look like the engine will need to be maneuvered in some crazy way or completely dropped to have a cam done? I wonder how much of a pain this thing will be to work on. I have not seen the underside of the car in relations to space in front of the engine to the fire wall.

We’re obviously looking at the top trim levels in these pics, but I am astonished that you’ll be able to get one of these respectably optioned for under $70k. This is a disruptive offering. In terms of performance value for the dollar this car shames anything & everything currently being built. My plan to buy a new Camaro in 6 months just switched to buying a low mileage used C8 in 18-24 and it looks well worth the wait. GM has made the unobtainable attainable.

I'd love to have the ZL1 package with mag ride and the 2LT trim. Then I'd get body color trim panels. (I don't like the black trim pieces on the side scoop.)
Orange with neutral interior and belts. |

Base 1LT = $59995, Z51=$5000, Magride=$1900, Performance exhaust=$1200, Competition seats=$2000, PDR=$1800. $72K for a C8 with the track options you want. I said $75K. Pretty great deal, if you are a gambler and willing to take a first year Chevrolet that is 98% new content. I'd wait at least two years, personally. |
