Headers were my first mod, DT shorties. I would take that over any exhaust. People are always surprised I have the V6 when the hear the car pulling.

But for simplicity:
1 CAI first to get rid of the throttle hesitation you have with the stock one.
2 Catch can. Keep it clean and cheap and easy mod.
3 Headers. You simply cannot duplicate the sound of headers with any exhaust, nor the HP gains. The debate about shorty gains go on, but, the improvement in pull equalled the difference I felt after I installed the 3/8" ice-olator.

Is there a huge difference from stock and aftermarket sway bars? I don't think I've every rode in a vehicle with aftermarket sways/bushing. How does it feel? When do you know that "yea, this thing has sways". Is it in turns, etc?

Absolutely. A sway bar and/or bushing upgrade can transform your car. The stock set up is not bad but once you make the change your eyes are opened to how much body roll and vagueness exists in the factory set up. It is a lot flatter in the corners and more responsive.

All great advice.

Maybe the way to create the list is, if you have a certain amount of money what should you do.

But you need to ask, are you looking for performance or handling, or some combination of both.

Each list includes the price I paid so work how much you have to spend from there.

So I offer the following lists in my order of preference.

Performance / (engine protection):

1. Catch Can (sorry I got this one free 3 years ago as a Christmas give away worth approx. $150.)

2. MRT 2.0 Axle back for sound improvments. ($550. DIY install).

3. INJEN CAI ($273).

4. Ice-olator ($150.)

5. Ported Throttle Body ($150)

6. Trifecta Tune (Less than $300.)

Total $1573.00 This is the order I would do it in again too.

Handling:

1. Eibach lowering springs (to improve the looks and handling) ($187. + $359 install and alignment)

2. Eibach sway bars ($253.)

3. Pedder Subframe inserts ($200.)

4. Pedder Front Radius Bushing Inserts ($82.)

5. BMR Trailing Arms & Toe Rods (bought these used from a fellow C5 person) ($200.)

6. BMR Trailing arm bushings BK006 (25.)

Total $ 1306. This is the order I would do it again

Catch Can
Air Intake
Solo Performance Mack X-LLT with J Pipes.

Here's a pic of my Elite Can after a run fom Montréal to Woodward Dream Cruise, a 1,200 miles run.

All of that oil would have been returned into the engine.

Air Intake
Exhaust
Catch Can

Exhaust may not have the best power gains on the camaro but can definitely help shed some weight plus the stock mufflers are so weak. They are tiny and look embarassing because there is so much space around them. Getting an exhaust better and larger in diameter helps the look and sound by alot. Thats why I think its one of the most best, noticeable mods you can do. It's a visual, sound, weight, and performance upgrade.

A good exhaust can improve your driving experience dramatically. Driving with stock exhaust is like watching a movie with no music.

1. Catch Can

2. INTAKE / drop springs

3. ported TB, black isolators.

the rest would be exhaust goodies like headers and full cat back setup and more suspension. SWAY bars and bushings.
