Doug Thorley Shorty Headers Installed/Review

First off, I know, this was a long time coming, I've been busy with school and hadn't had time to do a proper write up. Second, a shout out to the guys over at GPI in Jacksonville, AR, they do great work. I've had the Doug Thorley shorty headers on for over 3,000 miles now, I love them. The fit and finish is fantastic, the ceramic coating looks great. Performance wise I feel a little more power down low. Sound, the headers gave it more growl and rumble, its a bit louder, but like a more refined even tone. I'll say oddly enough the headers actually cut down about 60-70% of my existing drone. The Cherry Bombs by themselves were awful drone wise, and they were extremely loud, the drone was so bad my ears rang afterwards, and it gave me a headache to drive it. I added the resonated X-pipe, and it knocked down a lot of drone, and removed the rasp. However there was still some drone, and you would have to talk a bit louder than a normal volume in the car. With the headers the drone is almost all gone, I get a slight amount when i'm cruising on the interstate. Overall though I love these headers.
On a side note, I will be ordering a Roto-Fab intake within the next month or so. Also I may get the secondary cats cut out, I'm hopping it will give a bit more volume and get a little more of that pissed off sound. Anyways here is the video, I apologize I recorded it with my Iphone so some of the deep tone got lost, and I'm not the best with video editing software.

I think that sounds awesome! Love the soft rumble it has in your behind the car portion of the video.

Ahh...that's the ONE thing about the LLT I wish the LFX and the new LGX still had.....headers. :(

Doug Thorley Shorty headers do bring the exhaust note out more! I have a pair installed with a Pypes Mid-muffler Catback Exhaust system.

Thanks! I find myself revving it up, or holding the gears out longer, all the time just to hear that sound.

I really like this set up. I'd guess an intake would finish the sound off nicely!

It took me several years to get mine, every year I said I'd get a set but never did but eventually I bit the bullet and did it. It was worth the wait.

I have a set sitting in my garage. The reason they have not been installed yet is that I am still trying to find a place to install them for me.

I understand trying to find a place to install them, I'm lucky that I have a good shop to install them from a reasonable distance from me.

I still have a lot of grumble, but I figure the res x-pipe knocks down a lot of it.
