Missing Spring Spacers

Does anyone know the P/N for the OEM spring spacers? The dealer that I bought my ZL1 from threw my originals away. They refused to order another set. I looked on ebay and none were posted. Will need to order from my local dealer. Also, if anyone has bought a set, how much were they?

Your dealer is supposed to remove them and put in the glove box during the dealer prep, they are required to be put in place should your ZL1 ever need to be towed, Go back to your dealer and INSIST they replace them !! if they refuse I'd escalate this directly to GM. It is important that you have these available.

I was kidding. It was in response to go back to your dealer and demand..... xxx happens. When you go back to the big bad dealer pissed and yelling...less gets accomplished. Ask me how I know?

Your Chevy dealers aren't the bad guys...I don't know why the forum makes it out like that. Are there absolutely dumb dumbs that don't know sh*t about these cars at the dealers? YES! I work with a ton of them every day. But there usually is at least 1 person who is a product specialist or Camaro/Corvette specialist. find them and befriend them

The fact is the dealer threw away something that on paper says is required for towing, they should replace them. Since you work at a dealer why don't you help the guy out and order him a set.

I wasn't in anyway suggesting that OC ZL1 go to the dealer and cause a scene, just simply that that His/her dealer didn't provide a part which should have been delivered with the vehicle, It is something that is specifically spelled out in the dealer prep instructions and the customer should not have to pay for out of pocket.

Here are the PDI instructions for your ZL1

Quality Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)

Please be sure to review the PDI and CSDS forms published for this vehicle. There are several special inspections items highlighted for this vehicle vs. others. Additionally the CSDS form has important customer education pieces that we have learned during our Captured Test Fleet process. Report any product issues via Field Product Report. Refer to the latest version of Corporate Bulletin 02-00-89-002 titled "Information for Dealers on How to Submit a Field Product Report." Canadian dealers should refer to the latest version of Corporate Bulletin Number 10-00-89-006.

• Install front bumper outer valance panels.

• Remove the spring spacers from the front suspension and place them in the glove box for the customer. If the car is to be on a trailer for any reason, the spacers need to be placed back in the front springs to obtain ground clearance.

Note: Initially, the ZL1 Camaro front spring spacers will be black. In near future, they will be made yellow for easier visibility.

• Hand wash the car. Due to the larger width wheels, most car wash tracks will not accommodate the wider wheels.

• Do NOT apply wax or polish to the flat black portion of the hood or extractors. Applying wax or polish to this portion of the hood will result in a cloudy haze to the finish.

• Premium Fuel Only.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

If you end up needing it,........ the part number is: #22757643 - It is a kit with both sides included,Just one kit is required

This isn't the dealers fault persay, but the person who does the delivery prep who wont take the time to read and follow the PDI instructions. ! The customer shouldn't need to kiss anybodys ass to get what he should have recieved in the first place.

My spacers were thrown out also. They ordered me a new set without an issue. They are 13 dollars each (26 dollars) for the two. My car was delivered to my house via flat deck without the spacers in. It is possible but a pain in the ass. Two by six pieces of wood work in a stepped fashion. A good transporter can get it done without. If he or she is good they will have wood on board as back up. If your dealer is going to be a dousche over 26 dollars then go to another and buy them there and do your business elsewhere. That dealer is pretty weak to be grawveling over such a small thing!

I had to ask for mine, I was looked at like I had four heads when the request was made! My sales person took me thru the service area to look for them with him because everyone was gone for the day, we found one and the next morning he had someone go thru the dumpster to find the other! I was amazed that they knew enough to remove them but not smart enough to place them in the car. I also asked that none of the plastic be removed from my interior and not to detail the car, they didnt listen!

See everyone loves to hate the dealers. I should order him a set...I never said kiss ass. But the threads with INSIST... DEMAND... and all that nevermind I give up.

We're all money grubbing millionaires out to screw people over and piss them off. Everyone comes in pissed off right off the bat....and never even gives us a chance. This effect is multiplied by the forums....."I read on the forum that"..... is the first thing I hear out of so many mouths its disgusting. While there is a lot of good info on here....there's also a lot of misinformation too. Just trying to set the record straight and make sure no one suggests to go to the dealer and raise hell. The PDI guy obviously was smart enough to take them out....instead of let them drive home with them.....but he obviously didn't know they were to be kept. Politely tell them you're missing something instead of INSISTING and DEMANDING.

That's all I was trying to say...sorry I pissed everyone off.
