Not sure yet. Few people are getting performance parts on their rides and it's stirring up some mod feelings again.

Over 5 years, and 80K miles later. No issues. Almost every bolt on mod available. Over 170 passes at the local 1/4 mile track. Key is to change the oil regularly not when the oil consumption indicator tells you to. I change between 3500 and 5000 miles using Mobil 1. Check the oil level often and keep it full. should have no problem. Careful of that MOD bug thou, it is contagious and hard to get rid of once you have it......ENJOY. For a list of my stuff check my signature or my build journal.

I have a 2010 Camaro LLT with 35,000 miles on it. It is twin turbocharged with tons of modifications. No oil leaks, no timing chain issue, not 1 problem to date. Runs like new. Key here is to change oil RELIGIOUSLY with filter. I change mine every 3000 miles and only use Mobile 1 and no additives. Because I live in Florida, I use 10-40w instead of 10-30 due to extreme temperatures.

207 quarter mile passes, 120 of them with the IPF Supercharger. Running 13 PSI of boost and the fastest LLT, no issues. Oil changed with Royal Purple HPS @ 5k miles. New transmission fluid at 50k along with a 4k Torque Converter.

I used Borg Warner #6258 EFR turbo chargers which are light years ahead in material technology and engineering design. The lowest rotating turbine mass of any turbo currently on the market. Ball bearing and water cooled center sections.
My shop did the install, so I have no actual cost breakdown because I did so many other modifications at the same time. Including the purchase price of the car and all the modifications to date, which are insane in number, I have $110,000 in vehicle purchase, materials and parts and approximately $40,000 in labor if I paid myself average shop rates. If I were to estimate only the twin turbo install without any whistles and bells, I would guess $10,000 for the basic of installs. I consider this build to be as extreme as anyone can imagine. I'm 68 yrs old and simply wanted to cap off my engineering career with an over-the-top build. |

What? How did you spend 100000 total and 40000 in labor? Last edited by W4rMach1ne; 09-28-2015 at 06:45 PM. |

About to hit 70k in my modded 2010 without issue.
About the timing chains... Being paranoid about it myself I did some research and there was a finding that a majority of the failures occurred in cold climate regions. From what I can remember it was attributed to making short trips where the engine oil wasn't getting up to operating temperature. If this is true, living in Florida is a major plus.
