oil change and alignment didnt go as planned

Went to dealer yesterday to get my first oil change (650miles) i know its not necessary but i wanted to use one of my two free oil changes from GM. they flat out denied it and said not until 5000 will the gm oil change be covered by them.

also went to check alignment because a friend with another 1le who i know for a fact doesnt drive the car hard (because hes terrified of it) and has completely bald tires front and rear at 5000 miles.

I got this read out from them and they said they fixed a few specs but as you can see above its the specs for the FE3 suspension camaro not our FE4. needless to say they argued and argued with me saying that the specs dont change and fe3 and fe4 suspensions get the same alignment.

anyone want to chime in? am I over reacting here and should just trust the "PROS"?

Regarding the oil change, find a new dealer.

Agreed, new dealer for the oil change. Alignment will all depend on how you drive the car. If you are daily driving it and will never see the track, what you have above would probably be just fine.

His question was is the FE3 and FE4 the same?

I echo about the dealer issue with the oil change. Those two oil changes are for you to use at anytime during the two year period. Mine had no problem doing it at 1500 miles( I did pay for the difference though for Mobil 1).

The same what? Suspension components? No, they have different springs and tuned MRC. The same alignment specs? It doesn't matter, proper alignment specs are subjective.

I got my first oil change at 500 miles, and then did my own at 1500. I'm about to get another at 3500 from the dealer. That dealer sounds like an a hole...

The Dealer I used for the oil change had no problem doing it at 800 miles. I did not purchase the vehicle from them. They were still 100% happy to do the change when I wanted it.

not a daily driver and if i do hit the track it might be once a year. so i guess ill be good with this alignment.

just thought the alignment specs would be different for fe3 and fe4

im going to try and get them to show me in writing where they say the oil change can only be done at a specific milage or time when its being done through the two first free ones

sounds like my fear of having a shitty dealer is true . which is sad because the purchasing process was nothing more than excellent

What do you mean with “proper alignment spec are subjective?” Sorry for the dump question.

I had a similar experience with our local Toyota dealer. Wife’s van had 2000 miles and I wanted the oil changed (free coupons when purchased new). They said no their “special synthetic” yes he actually said this only requires 5K mike oil changes. Well after arguing about special oil and engine break in they changed it. I have never went back and use my own special Mobil 1 oil lol

Find a new dealer ASAP

Why? Just go to a different dealer.
