Ok he is brake standing the car, I hope you know that. You need to go down to M mode and use paddle shift to put the car in 1st gear and leave it there why you do it. You will notice in the video how he is reving up and down a little, that is because he is right at redline and has to keep it in first to keep spinning them.

So by doing this you put great stress on the engine, the rears brake pads since the brakes are being applied to keep the car for taking off and kiss those tires good bye. Probaly roasted 2K miles on them just in that video.

But if you want to do it, it can be done. How do you think I went thru a set of rear tires in 8500 miles. But I only did that like 3 times the rest was getting to the speed limit quickly.

I would not waste my rubber doing that, and risk other possible damage, unless that was the x lieing in front of the car like that. I have gotten rubber in the first 3 gears in my auto though, without applying the brake exept at the very start to get the revs up. Sport mode everything off.

If I can do a burnout in my automatic 7000 pound 5.3 liter yukon. You can do it in a 400 hp camaro. Just turn the traction control off, Step on the brake and floor the gas. Once it starts spinning the stall converter cuts out and the engine can rev up. The only way in a manual its easier is that with the clutch, you are the stall converter and can control how much slip the clutch has.

It's easier to do a brake job burnout(which that is what that was in the vid) in an auto than a manual. I also just put it in low so it doesn't try to upshift and ruin your fun.

I was going to say it, but you beat me, look at the fool taking pics or video?? Why would you lay in the road waiting to be ran over when the driver makes a mistake? Instant serious injury or death!

You can bet when ever he goes to sell the car he will say it has never been beat on. I guess I value mine to much to tear it up like that but to each his own.

Burnouts aren't exactly good for your drive train...but that shouldn't be a problem for you...you'll just buy another Camaro, right? Replacing tires is easy, not so easy to replace your engine, tranny, driveshaft, etc.

This is not a good idea ... I did it a few times (maybe 3 or 4) in my SRT8 Challenger and needed new brake pads and rotors after I wanna say ... 9k miles? Almost 2 grand !!! Tires were alright tho...

Don't do it .... not worth it!
