Agreed. I don't think Ford is going to make that dramatic of a break. A design like that goes one of two ways: a smash hit or a total flop. And I don't think Ford needs to roll the dice on the Mustang right now...

I commend Ford for taking a bold step in its sport car future. Drop the mustang badge, call it a 'GT' and watch the sales sky rocket. And in 5-7 years bring back a 'retro' Mustang(w/ the name) in the sales line up to attract sympathetic buyers.

Psssh. NO way in hell. If they have not stopped production of Mustang by now it will never happen.

And why is everyone acting like the pictures seen are the actual mustang? The article is saying that it MAY use design cues from that car, not copy it. No one currently knows what exactly Mustang looks like in 2014.

This is why I don't buy ford products.

Not only do they totally change motors every year or 2.. but they change designs every like 3. They can't make up their minds!

Are you blind? Are you aware that the basic design of Mustang on average only changes every 10 years. Look at a 2005 Mustang and look at a brand new one, its all the same platform and basic design.

Other cars like the Fusion stay the same for on average 5 years, then change.

This is basically how its done for all car companies.

I like it. And I don't know why so many people complain about it looking like an aston martin. Aston martins are beautiful looking cars. And if I could buy a $30k car that has a $200k car design, all the more cooler. Plus, I think they should move away from the whole retro thing. It's getting old.

I personally don't mind cars that look similar from one generation to the next i.e. Porsche 911, Corvettes. The retro look is part of what drew me to buy a Mustang GT back in 2005 (that and no new T/A WS6s).

I suppose I will wait until the actual car comes out. If it brought back some of the cues of the SN95 new edges, then I probably would like it... but that would probably be considered retro too

Anyway I don't know ha ha, maybe it is because depending on which "expert" is talking I'm either Gen X or Gen Y... I guess I'm trans-gendered... err I mean trans-generational.
