False Rumor: 2017 ZL1 to get 777HP?!?!?!?!
So many people want it to be true, but this edit a few days back appeared on GM Small-block wiki.
2017: Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ("LTK") 777hp (579 kW) 666lb·ft (903 N·m) This is 100% false, but figured it would be fun to share how someone is playing with our heart strings. Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_sma...013-present.29 I doubt GM would ever surpass the power of the Vette in a Camaro. But again, the performance of a 2015 Z06 has proven they do not need over 650hp to dominate the track. They need a capable car that can make good use of all that HP and torque to beat down the competition.

Not going to happen. 777 hp and 666 tq? Yeah, that's just bullshit.
Does it have an optional crucifix or pentagram?

Unfortunately and sadly these are the last real years of the horsepower wars between companies! I hope I am wrong, but the days of high horsepower cars are limited. I think it is absolutely absurd, but we might be having to hold onto these types of cars. The day I buy an electric car is the day I start walking everywhere! lol!

Yeah but back then the government and the EPA wasn't out of control as it is now, there was nothing else besides gasoline to power an engine. I really hope that is not the case and should not be, because in the last 10 years or so is when major advancements took place to the gasoline engine.

They might put a limit on engine displacement and the wars would start again from there. Back in the 80's F1 had 1000 HP 1.5L turbos.

Seriously??? Everything! The best is that people think they are "saving the planet" by using them. People think electricity just grows on trees or comes from thin air, it is produced from.........Fossil fuels!
No thanks, will continue to drive my gasoline engine cars!
