I have a 2SS RS 1LE, and live & drive in Montreal, Canada.
In the spring summer and early fall the car is great. But once the temp drops to below about 8 celcius, it begins to feel strange. The ride is noticeably harder, and less sticky. I was easily spinning the tires when accelerating from stop, and this is with traction control and all the other settings on or at default. I knew the stock 285/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G2 tires would suck in cold weather but I was still caught off guard. This information though is nothing new. The sales rep of course didn't tell me this, but the mechanic knew and of course there is all kinds of documentation online about this. New buyers: The 1LE is awesome and fantastic and an excellent alternative to the ZL1 and an amazing upgrade to the 2SS. When you buy it you'll love it, but remember to take it easy on extra cold nights. |

I just got a brand new pair of Reebok Hockey skates. I tried to skate on water and it didnt work! The idiots at the store told me the water had to be frozen, what jerks!
These are summer only performance/racing tires!!! It does not take a genius to understand how these things work. It is not Chevy's fault some assclown is taking out a 1LE as a winter DD.

Drove mine to work this morning when i left the house it was 5 degrees out. I am lucky to be alive and my tires didn't crack and explode. I am a total rebel.

It's funny, I own a 1LE in New Jersey and I love how well the tires perform in the winter. That's because they sit in the warm garage from November until April, like they're supposed to, and GM tells you that, so either move to a different state, or get yourself snow tires or a winter beater. I can't fathom who would buy a track car and try to drive it in the snow.

I think I'm going to go buy a TRACK READY car and drive it in the WINTER during below freezing temps...c'mon man. There's nobody to blame but the lack of logic and common sense put into this. I have winter wheels and summer wheels because I need to drive my car all year

I thought Summer tires were for summer and all seasons were for other times? Maybe I was mistaken.
Glad I wore out my p-zeros and swapped for Gmax. No problems, No Issues.
