I don't tailgate much, only time I do is when I'm in Austin, Houston or DFW because I kind of have to.
However on the open road I'll always give people space because I don't see a point in tailgating on open roads. I don't always get to take bugs off right away so they have baked on there. The headlights have taken a beating and so has the bumper, our roads aren't that forgiving with loose asphalt. |

My DD (2013 WRX) is about the same, if not worse. I've probably logged ~40 highway miles per day, every weekday for the past 3 years. It looks okay from far away, but if you get close, oh boy lol. At least I don't care as much anymore about drilling into the bumper for a front splitter.

From 10 feet away, my 2011 with 97,000 hard miles looks pretty good. Yes, there is a little touch- up paint dabbed here and there (much easier to blend a light color like my yellow than dark colors). But it's seen a lot of bad weather driving (snow, cinders), some dirt roads, lots of mountain driving, lots of SoCal commuter traffic. I've taken a lot of gravel, a couple of rocks, even a bird or three. It's been backed into by a senile old lady, and smacked by utility truck that wanted to be in my lane. But the car gets washed a couple of times per week, waxed every couple of months or so.
Get close, though, and the proof of real world daily driving can be found. I just don't sweat it, because it's inevitable. And, if/ when the time comes that I just CAN'T stand it any longer, a paint and body shop could make it like new again. Everything that you use gets worn out over time and use... Benjamin Franklin said, "Nothing in this world is certain, except death, taxes, and a few chips on your Camaro paint." |

Dark colors alway show any little defect worse than light colors. One reason I will never own a dark color again, they start looking old very quickly.

Mine has almost 24k on it and besides a few chips in the front and gill area it looks brand new, mileage is about half and half city/highway

I feel so bad for people that buy cars and let them sit in the garage. And they actually feel better doing it. It's like a sickness! These cars were made for driving, not rotting on their rubber.
I bet a lot of that could be buffed out with a simple orbital buffer and some compound. Maybe it's time you compound and glaze the car. It'll take all day, but it'll be new again. You just have to do the plastic bumpers by hand and save the orbital buffer for the metal parts.

Wow
My DD looks bad like that too. I have a darker blue color and its all spotted white because of sand and rocks from the HOV lane.

Damn man. That looks a bit excessive.
I've had mine 3 years, 35k miles and the paint is still immaculate. Mine is driven around town 80% of the time though.

That happened to the SS emblem on mine as well and the dealer replaced it under warranty.

The dealer said they'd fix my seat under warranty so I need to hurry up and do that before I go over the warranty fix time.
