I'm running the new Cooper Zeon RS3-G1's. After a spat with Pepboy's villainously bad install and alignment work, I took the car to the dealer to have them re-balanced & road forced properly. Here is what I can say about them in comparison to the stock Goodyear's:

- Same noise level, surprised they weren't quieter
- Smoother ride, not extra soft Continental sidewalls, but I don't feel ruts or acorns anymore
- Comfortable at both 32psi (lightly bagged and cold) & 38psi (hot 35)
- No runout like older Cooper A/S tires
- Road force measurements were 7/8/8/8 (one of the rears is now 15 after the bent rim from a pothole last week on I-4)
- Takes a little bit to heat up (about 5 miles of normal driving or a few launches to get grippy vs 2 miles or 1 burnout with the Goodyear's)
- They don't flat spot when sitting cold for a couple days like Continental/Firestone/General
- Once heated, I can turn off traction control and have less slip than the Goodyear's on a hard launch
- When cold they will trip the traction control
- Cornering is softer, but only slightly enough to be noticeable against the extra rigid Goodyear's
- Lateral grip is also slightly reduced, high speed curves you feel the limit about 4-5 mph sooner
- Wet, far superior to the Goodyear's, the stock GY's really shouldn't be driven in heavy rain or standing water, these things don't care how wet the surface is

Overall I'm more pleased with these than I was with the General G-Max AS-03's I used on the 2013 RS (but that was a V6, I don't think the G-Max would handle the torque of the newer SS like these do). I would also say that Cooper looks to finally be putting together a better consumer product line-up over their former homogenized offerings.

I'm forgiving of the areas where they underperform the Goodyear's because I can admit that you can't have it all and a softer sidewall to improve ride quality has to penalize you somewhere. The result that Cooper mitigated this impact to be marginal across each metric, instead of taking a large hit in any one metric, speaks well for the compound and tread design. My guess would be that they had their guys on the Mickey Thompson side of the house consult on these.

I had DWS tires on my 5th Gen and they were great tires but I really want the Michelin A/S 3+ for my 6th Gen. I posted a request for 245/40s on their web site. They make other tires in that size so why not these? Maybe if enough of us post questions they will add this size too.

Nice review! You mention flatspotting with the Contis, I plan on storing the car for the 3 months of coldest temps. I'm concerned that these will flatspot if it sits too long. Anyone else have this problem?

I would really like these Michelins too! If they had the Camaro SS sizes they would be my first choice!

MMR 017 wheels

They are MRR design M017 gloss black, not sure about the offset, google Florida Speed Shop and ask for Paul. They have sold a lot on this forum, he guaranteed to fit out of the box and they did and look great, I get more comments about the wheels and the flat spoiler I changed from the Fifty wheels.
They were $2400 delivered to NJ including TPMS, new lugs, balanced, etc.

I have these on my 2010 SS. I agree, quiet and great feel. Good on-center and no wandering.

Glad to see a review of the Coopers. I went with the new General Gmax AS-05. They're good.

I also am running GMAX AS-05's albeit in (255/35 & 275/35) I'm very impressed with them as well! They are my daily driving set on stock SS 5 spokes.

Any road noise or growl with these?

Looking at getting the DWS 06's, but Big O tires online price and in store quoted price are way different almost $100 more each for the rear.

For those that bought the newer AS-05's, could you give a quick review of them? I see two people mention being pleased with them and I felt these Coopers are better than the older AS-03's I had in the past, so I'm curious how much improvement General/Continental has delivered with those as well. Would be nice to know for next purchase if they are comparable so I have a couple options to pit against each other for price.
