Calls from the dealership regarding maintenance

Need some advice here,

I keep getting calls from my dealership stating that my required maintenance time has come up.

My DIC says I still have 25% oil life remaining from the last oil change. I don't drive enough per year to need more than one oil change a year - probably less than 6 000 kms. So I know that is not the issue.

They state I have other required maintenance needed - this is why I have come here. What other stuff could my car need currently?

It is a 2011 1LT Automatic with 33 000 miles. The brakes are fine. Anything else that could possible need to be done? Any other maintenance I am over looking for the 33 000 mile mark?

I don't want to go down there and get suckered into some useless maintenance that I don't need so I am wondering if anyone could clue me in!

Not to sound rude but you didn't think to ask them what other maintenance?

I would suggest the only maintenance required is that they tell Onstar to quit reporting you need maintenance to them.

Should have clarified to start.

I have called them, they state I could use a transmission flush and a radiator flush...hence why I have turned to you guys because that does not sound right...also they mentioned something about a general inspection for 100$ or something along those lines... in the end they told me I would be running about 450-500$...which no way seems to be true to me...

They're in the business to make money, kindly tell them not to call you.
On a side note, my dealer suggested you don't let the oil go below 20% life left, whether you change it yourself or you bring it to someone.

Thanks for the advice, I am a first time new car owner. Only owned beaters from the early 90s until last year so I am only familiar with oil changes/ spark plugs and what not. Not 100% familiar with the needs of a new car - and I definetly don't want to be suckered into useless maintenance fees I don't need.

I'm just here to learn

and yea it's just their bs personally if the flushes aren't expensive I'd do them but other then that I'd tell them to stop calling

also another good thing to do is get one of their maintenance pamphlets and when you have time run through it all on google and see what you can find/learn and if something isn't making sense or you don't understand something just come on camaro 5 and ask

I don't remember it in the manual at this moment but a coolant flush is recommend every 2 years. BUT in my dads 06 sierra it's got DexCool which is good for 5 years or 150k miles. Check the manual to see if the car runs on DexCool.

I would at least get the oil done every 5K miles or six months.

It should, just like every GM product since 1996
