Might help decide.....and the 2012 has 323 hp.

BTW, that price on the 2LT seems way high. I just paid a tick over $26K for a 1LT, A6...OTD.

The 2LT would be about $28k for me. The 1LT is less than $26k. The 1LT is IOM, A6, with connectivity package.

I'm not going to another dealership to buy my car. My pricing is printed right on every invoice and I get employee rebates from GM. Buying a car from another dealer would be a good way for me to lose my job.

The silver one I found is the only 2011 within 400 miles that isn't some goofed up order. The only 6 speed cars left are upfitter cars like Callaways or SLP ZL cars and there are only a couple of those. There are only 8 total 2SS coupes left within that distance.

We have both a 2LT and a 2SS. Both are completely different cars. As a daily driver I much prefer the 2LT. The engine is less jerky and the suspension is much smoother. It what I drive everyday to work. When I move to the 2SS on the weekends, you can feel the suspension difference and the engine tends to pull a little more making smooth starts a bit more challenging.

If you are looking for a DD, I would go with the 2LT.

I only read the op's post and I can tell you GET THE V8. From reading your post you will most definitely not be happy with a V6. Some people can be and are happy with the V6 ,but you don't seem like one of those people.

I'm not wild about silver either ,but if my only choice was a silver V8 vs the color I like in a V6, I would take silver without a second thought.

Look at the OPs title "GearheadSS". That says it all. Gas mileage means very little when you got "it" in your blood and I believe the OP does.

If he gets talked into a V6 I swear in 3 months we'll be reading another upgraded thread.

I agree, as a DD....the V6 all the way.

A few snippets from the article, saying the same:

"Conversely, the V6 offerings have always seemed like lame afterthoughts, but with the 2010 Camaro, GM has flipped the script. You see, you can make a pretty strong case that the V6 is really the better car."

"In fact, if you're going to drive the Camaro every day, the six-cylinder car is almost certainly the better pick. It looks fundamentally the same as its hairy-chested big brother, save for some subtle visual differences.

"The bottom line: whereas the Camaro SS feels like a fullback ready to blow through defensive linemen, the V6 car is more like the little halfback who's happier to turn the corner and let his athleticism win out. Both cars play the same game and share a lot of attitude, but their gameday approaches differ. As a result, the SS is a brute that lives to roar forward as if it's been jabbed with a cattle prod. It's basic, visceral power. The V6 is a little lighter on its feet and more refined in its quickness."

"The best news of all is that the V6 Chevy Camaro is a good car with a terrific engine. Yes, it's less powerful than the SS, but for the first time in forever, that doesn't mean that it's the lesser car. With the 2010 Camaro, "I have the V6" is something you can say with your head held high."

I heartily agree with everything the article stated. This is after owning and commuting with Z/28's, Mustang GT's (all stick), etc. I also drove a 2010 SS M6 before purchasing the 2012 1LT. The article nails it. I felt that the LT, in normal driving.....was not all that different feeling than the SS. The car does not lag......AT ALL. The SS only felt quicker when I got up in the rpm's and the engine began to breath. Add in the fact that it needs to drink 93 octane.......no thanks. My 2012 1LT has been a dream on my commute. Powerful, responsive, smooth.....and not that thirsty. The IOM gets plenty of looks too! Yes, mine has the connectivity, 19's and moonroof.

Ive owned 2 5th Gen Camaros. Both V6 and V8 were/are my daily drivers....

GET THE V8! Go big, or go home! If you get the V6, once you get used to it, you will always wonder about the V8..... Trust me.
