NEW HOOD in Production from ERIC at MPD1 --Pics inside

I wanted to start a write up on my current hood productions from Eric at MPD1. Not sure what Eric is going to name hood, but wanted to give him a shout out for all the hard work.

Several months ago I contacted Eric about building a hood similar to my current design. I wanted a hood that would provide clearance for a Whiple Supercharger and wouldn't require using a hood liner. The goal was to have a clean finish out underneath as well as incoorperating Hex Vents along with other custom fabrication work.
After many back and forth discussion and recommendation by Eric he agreed to take the project on. Needless to say his work is amazing!! Here is the hood currently in production.

I wanted to also give a shout out to TRC-SS for allowing me to use his original design which is seen on his car and mine currently. Another shout out to Steve at Hex Vents for providing demo Vents used during the building process. This allowed zero downtime with current hood since not having to remove Hex vents for build. Shout out to Showstoppers as well for coordinating with Eric off of Heat Extractor desgin and allow this build to move forward.

With the coordination of all these Members and Vendors Eric has created a masterpiece

Looking forward to posting up final production photos along with painting and installation.

Planning out

Those cowls only look bad when they are empty underneath. The OP said it was to clear a Whipple. If that's the case I give it a resounding "Hell Yeah!"...

I was slightly worried about hood height as well. Eric and I had discussions on this and I will let Eric comment on that. However, after seeing several MPD1 hoods at fest with higher cowls looking forward to something higher esp with Whipple and new Strut Brace Bar.

Now make sure you put the Whipple in there. Other wise I'll talk crap about you... lol

Seriously though that'll be some old school cool.

I'm a fan of big PD S/C's. I've always thought the Procharger/Vortex whatever's just should go turbo. To me you get the lag of a turbo and parasitic loss of a belt drive down on TQ compared to a PD too.

They are lighter though...

Thanks...The Hex vents are a fantastic product for sure!! I love my current setup as shown, but had to remove the hoodliner for the whipple to clear. I didnt want anything rubbing on Whipple, pullys or covers. Searched long and hard for different options, but opted to go with ERIC/MPD1 to have something more custom with clean finish out for shows.

As you can see current underneath current hood was never going to work for shows. Rails underneath exposed!!

New Hood will be much much cleaner!!
