Just got home from the track. We had a good time we got pit passes and saw a lot of nice runs down the track. My brother in law ran a 5.83 then lost in the second run of 5.91 when he left early and fouled out. I think the fastest car was in the low 4's it was a 1/8 mile track.

Made our road trip to Sedona, AZ. It's actually our wedding anniversary and we seem to end up coming here every year. We love it up here! Temps were in the 60's tonight and, with the breeze, we had to wear coats. Anyway, while holding my point and shoot camera on the steering wheel, I shot some photos of Rt 179 into Sedona. I'm shooting through a windshield, so these images are not the best. But you get the idea of the scenery. View from our room. That's all for tonight. Lots more coming tomorrow.

Nice pics Rick. That looks like a very scenic route. Happy Anniversary.
Sounds like fun Zandron. Darn that red light! It has gotten me a couple of times too. The 1/8th mi track is a blast too Skip. You should come down here for our Spring Fling. It would be a nice little weekend trip. We have a great time. Good morning crew. It is a nice clear, crisp morning in middle Tennessee. It is supposed to warm up to the mid 80's. Not bad conditions at all for washing the Camaros. Just a few house chores first then we will get out there & get at it. HAGD everyone.

Replaced the shift linkage seal going into the transmission on the 69 camaro, so it is time to hit the road. Hope it is going to stop that pesky drip!! Beautiful day today with a promise of much needed rain tonight. Have a great day eveyone and keep the greasy side down !! John

Sorry about the rain Blue-J, that does not make for a very fun car show, but that is a pretty good turnout for a rainy day. Hope you managed to have some fun anyway.
Hope the fix on the 69 takes care of the drip ragxl1. Okay just a few observations on my day cleaning Ruby. First, I will never be putting shoe polish racing numbers on my car again. Time to buy some vinyl ones. I had forgotten to take it off when I got home & I guess it stayed on a bit too long. It took a lot of elbow grease & rain-X to get it off. I was worried there for a while that I had done permanent damage. Then as I looked Ruby over getting ready to wash her, to my amazement there was very little on her. I had driven the probably 18 or so country miles to and from the drag race track plus 7 or 8 passes down the drag strip. I decided that a "whore bath" (waterless wash) was going to be more than good enough. The most amazing part was even under the rocker panels there was virtually no visible dirt. The microfiber cloths I used had no dark residue on them when I finished. There was no pollen build up which even in the garage we usually get especially with the high pollen count we have had recently, plus sitting out at the track in the woods all day on race day. There were only a couple of bug splats and it was like 11:30PM when we drove home. Someone please tell me how does that happen? NO bugs, no road or track grime, virtually no pollen, I don't get it. But I won't argue with it either. Weird huh? I spent a long time detailing the engine bay instead.

Yeah, rain at car shows kinda sucks. Been there, done that. Not too enjoyable. Quote:
Had a fun day in Sedona today. Had a nice breakfast here at the resort, then went to some art show (not my thing), then went to the Sedona Wine Festival. Drank lots of good stuff and bought a good cigar for the evening. Then we walked the shops on the main drag (not my thing) where I got to check out a Nikon D7100. I want one bad! We came back to the resort, had dinner, then walked around some more. Even walked up to this real neat shop full of neat artsy stuff. I will TRY to snap a photo of the place as we drive by tomorrow. The skies are so clear and dark here I was able to see the Milky Way. It's even a bit too bright where we live to see it. Only shot 10 "driving" photos today. I'm not into taking pics of crowds. Just not my thing. I moved the camera on this one. However, if you look to the left, you can see the Foghorn Leghorn statue (below the no u-turn sign) at that neat shop. Moved the camera again. :( The traffic jam starts here. Still about a mile to Rt 89A. Taking a ride on the Verde Canyon Train tomorrow. If I sit in a good seat, I'll try to shoot some good stuff. Had some more wine and a cigar while sitting on our porch. The sky is beautiful, and the temps are in the 60's. I am so relaxed and chill right now. Life is good.

Sounds like a nice day even if some of it was "not your thing". Those are some more nice pics.
I must have worn myself out fiddling around with Ruby yesterday. I slept like a rock & didn't wake up until much later than I usually sleep even on weekends. Today is going to be a leisurely day. Just a little driving & spending time with family. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

I'm 56 and love my 2ss 1le
Like my partner's secretary said after she saw my 1le, "It's one of those cars where it pulls up and you say "wow, what a cool car and then you get out" meaning an old guy. Gotta love it.

LED BOOTS: 56 Years young. Hell you're a puppy! I liked your pics. I'm 65 retired but remember my 60s muscle years, however, these new Camaro's would stomp those "muscle cars" today in all categories. Especially MPG! Have fun......PUPPY!
