Ok I understand meth cools and adds octane and allows you to run more timing to make more power and all that, also its being used to make up for the fuel systems short comings. But why do some use straight meth some use 50/50 meth/water ,some use the -20 washer fluid that is like 30/50 meth /water. I also understand about the fire issues with straight meth. I guess Im wanting to know about the power increase. Does straight meth make more power with more issues? Does 50/50 make the same power but no fire issues? What percentage to use and why?

My understanding is (and I could be wrong feel free to correct me) pure meth is more for the fueling side and light mixes like windshield washer is more for cooling IAT's only.

So if you have the lt4 fuel system and did the 50/50 meth/water would you make the same power as straight meth or would the 50/50 mix make the octane lower and it wouldnt make as power as straight?

From what I understand, running 100% meth gives you the octane boost to make more power but you need keep on top of it. Make sure it hasn't gone off or you run out while using it, have your tune setup to kill timing if the IATs go nuts. 50/50 or anything less is just to cover your butt a bit, it will just cool the IAT, keep the timing the same or only slightly more.

FYI, only Alkycontrol is rated for 100% meth. With the plastic push to fit hose you're limited to 50/50

So the kit from snow for the gen 6 camaro with the plate setup for the nozzle and the braided lines wouldnt work with straight meth?

Nope will kill your pump. Alky is good and stands behind their work. I run straight meth last a while easy enough to refill just have to order 5 gal containers all the time. I run it for alittle protection and alittle timing.

I'm not a tuner so I won't speak on behalf of Matt Sorian, but there is a reason why I am running 100% meth over a mixture. If he says 100% meth is better than that Snow shit mixture crap out on the market, then I believe him. Plus, it's methenol in it's purest form and I'd prob say it keeps the IAT's a tick lower than a mixture does. But, I'm just guessing here. I'd never run a mixture. Just run 100%. Buy you a 5 or 10 gallon VP pump can and keep that sucker full like I do and filler up.

Stay away from the Snow kit and run the Alky kit. You've been warned.

100% meth. Tune for the added fuel/octane. Only thing you can do is run a fail safe like an AFR alarm (probably too late) / boost / timing cut. If you can't handle the upkeep of a meth injection and need to tune for failure, forget it. I hear that argument against meth, way too often.

Been running alky meth 100% kit for a year now... pretty problem free I had one issue but it was nothing to do with kit design was a install issue. FYI I daily drive it 25k miles in the last year.
