I think the philosophy has changed, instead of the older brother getting all the new goidies first, he now shares that with his younger brother.
The Vette introduced the LT4 and the ZL1 introduced the 10 speed auto. Will the Z28 introduce a TT, that may later show up in the mid engine Vette? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

What do you guys think the upcoming 2017 Z/28 horsepower will be? I'm thinking at least 650, probably more like 660 HP.

I am not sure the goal of the Z/28 is high HP. The ZL1 (first as a motor in the Gen1 and then as a model in the Gen5) has usually had that honor in the Camaro line. As we all know, the Z/28 is mostly about suspension, handling, and braking while having enough HP to maximize those areas of the car. In the Gen1, the most famous motor in the Z/28 was the 302DZ. It was a small displacement, high revving, small block that was built specifically for the Z/28 and if I am correct was not shared with any other vehicle. To stay true to the brand and to "earn" its way into the currently lineup (as Al O was quoted as saying) I think the Z/28 needs to stay true to the receipt. How awesome would it be to have the next LS7 debut in the Z/28?!?!? That is what I am hoping for regardless of the HP numbers. I believe the ZL1 is going to come in safely over 650 so I think that will remain king of the HP in the Camaro line and let the Z/28 focus on shredding road courses around the world. Just my two cents.

Well, if someone would leak some 1/4 mile times we would have a better guess to what the power level is. How is it the Z28 has supposed leaked 1/4 mile times, but nothing for the ZL1 yet Al O says its being tested everywhere?

It will really hinge on the pricing and availability. Don't get me wrong, I love my C7. It is an incredible car in many ways.

But it is not perfect. Nor, for that matter, will the ZL1 be either. I trade cars a lot because I like a lot of different cars. My current C7 is not my first one but that's irrelevant. And I would bet you a hot fudge sundae when the new ZL1 comes out the dealers who are NOT going to mark it up will be few and far between. Just look at every new launch of any halo/niche vehicle including from Chevy and INCLUDING the Gen V ZL1. Hellcats marked up? Oh yeah. GT500s? Yep. 2012 ZL1s? OMG yes. Gen V Z/28s? Sho' nuff... And so on and so on.... Oh, yeah, the stealerships will never change and they - most if not all - will INDEED mark up the first '17 ZL1s.
