I believe Glen was merely advising the OP that another thread with helpful information also existed. Uncalled for is a bit of a stretch.

I understand. I just feel that we can be more helpful than just saying there was another topic discussed on this now go find it. We all know what it feels like to have an issue and need help asap. So if you are aware of it being an issue that has been discussed before, why not just offer the answer or a link to the answer? I only mentioned it because I see it a lot on this forum where people are quick to say "do a search" and sometimes that needs to be said. But I don't feel it was necessary on this occasion

Not normal. I had some slow cranking but not that slow where it sounds like it won't turn over at all.

OP said he couldn't find it when he search, so if he seen the damn thing then he should post it instead of being a baby about it.

Bummer did they say they replaced anything? Does it do it every time? If the battery is good with a "load test" on it to check for a bad cell then they need to replace that starter, which sounds all frozen up. It should come down to those two things. The only other thing I have seen cause real slow start like that is on older cars with a bad AC compressor that is seizing up and the starter can't spin the belts.

I had a starter go bad in a 2002 corvette but it would not fire at all or work fine. Once replaced all good. I think heat killed it and some suggested wrapping it with a heat shield.

I've had both batteries and starters that have tested good but we're in fact bad and only found out after replacing then anyway.
If you need to park next to a new one and compare how they start for the techs, may be what you have to do.
I have had service departments go down a checklist and tell me by car (not my Camaro) was fixed when there was an obvious cylinder miss. It sucks when diagnostics does not fix it for them.
It isn't right. You'll never make it in the cold.

+1

I had a pulley seize before.

Disconnect the belt and try starting it, see if it still hard starts.

Well on the last video I said "that ain't right!" and for this one I say "wtf" - how in the world would the mechanic think that starting sequence is even remotely close to being right?

I would be afraid to be too far from home with your car as that sounds like a car that will not start the next time.

Good luck! BTW - what did they supposedly fix?

My car did this today. It wasn't anywhere as extreme as the OP's, but when it first started to crank it was identical to the OP's original video. After the first try and a crank and kinda long pause, it then finally started to crank more normally and then fired up ok. This only happens after driving the car a long time and it being very heat soaked, shutting the car off, then trying to crank it again a few minutes later. It always starts slowly in this situation, but nowhere near as bad as today.

OP what's your update? Did the dealer ever fix it and if so what was the issue?
