See how the outer tips are darker, that is what my car did after my fuse pull! I always have to wipe them out.
I like the contrast of my diffuser not being painted, JMOH...

more mustang talk i know i know but i think they look strange with the same color diffuser, i like the black no matter what color the car is Im just a big fan of different contrasts. i would leave mine black not colored matched.

The rear diffuser is a sore spot for me, just as much as the SS spoiler. IMO, the 6th gen Camaro has a nice front but a very ugly rear end. I miss how the diffuser on the 5th gen had an angle to it which recessed back into the car. The diffuser on the 6th gen looks like a solid wall of plastic.
If I had to have the diffuser any color, I'd prefer matte black to gloss, though. Last edited by RenegadeXR; 08-23-2015 at 11:30 PM. |

MIC, Mold in Color. Generally black or gray, but the plastic contains UV stabilizers so it doesn't turn that nice chalky white.
Painted. Generally a version of the same plastic without UV stabilizers because the UV stable material doesn't hold paint very well. So having painted and MIC adds some cost as typically 2 different materials are required. And painted is not cheap. Also painted body color adds sequencing costs as the part now has to show up on the assembly line painted the same color as the car. Also, for reference, the SS had MIC (my car) for 2014 and it was painted in 2015. That is all.

The diffuser on the new Mustang is the ONLY THING they did right on the ass-end of that car. Too bad the rest looks pre-wrecked.

I think the rear with the ground effects package looks really good. A big improvement over without.
