2010 SS Won't Start 2,000 miles...???

Well guys it's been a while since I've been on the site but had an issue today I thought was surely worth mentioning. Yesterday I went to take my car out of the garage. Brake, push clutch in and turn key all gauges move and beep and nothing??? I was like "what the hell?" Tried 5-6 times and nothing. Didnt think it was the battery as I had driven it just a few days ago. Radio turned on ok and all was well. On the 6-7th try it fired right up? Backed it out...cleaned up the shop for an hr and went to start it 6-7 times again and nothing. I was lucky to get it back in the garage. Today I go out there to try and start it and nothing. Same thing happens with the gauges but can't get it started....any one out there hear anything like this? I called the dealership and service is closed till Monday?!?!? And all I wanted to do is go for a cruise today...

There is a starter wire TSB/recall that was issued quite awhile ago. Did you ever have that done? If not, I would bet that is your problem.

I had the same problem with my 2010 SS and the problem turned out to be a bad cell in the battery. Dealer replaced it and I haven't had a problem yet. Good luck getting it fixed.

Yep, this is another very likely scenario.

if the car is cranking you can eliminate the battery issue..

I don't believe the car is cranking at all.

Well, if his stater wire is bad as per the TSB that could also be the culprit.

Something about how it was routed and causing wear and lead to a fire in one case that I remember. Symptoms of this are intermittant starting problems.
