I actually have converted my nephew into a Van Halen, Tool, and Led Zeppelin fan. One at a time, one at a time...lol.

oh good, don't know how a month would be complete without another one of these Camaro-is-not-selling threads.

I think sports cars don't appeal to the younger generation as much as they did to us older folks. To them cars are transportation to get from point a to point b. They'd rather spend their money on vacations and other things. They think, whyspend 600 a month on a car when a 200 a month car will serve the same purpose. Very few of them know what performance is or even care about it. They have a different way of looking at whats fun and how to spend their money. Cars are not one of them. Its all the technology, iphones, computers, video games. Why actually do something when you can virtually do them. Car enthusiasts are a dying breed.

Here's an idea, instead of selling overly priced, extremely optioned cars like this one .... make the price more attainable for more folks ......

Besides the 20% off on some of the 2016s the prices are almost set in stone, I went looking at the 1SS at a few places but dealers don't wanna budge on price, which is a shame because I would have loved to buy a 6th Gen 1SS ....

Mid 20s here and I have been into muscle all my life. First car was a 95 firebird formula with an lt1 I drove it into the ground. Then I purchased an 06 GTO and drove it into the ground. Now I have the Camaro and I'm back to an "LT1" lol. I don't think its a fan boy problem I think its a "I cant afford it" problem. Even older age people can no longer afford nice cars. So when their kids grow up, hundias, Toyota corolas, and glue sniffing is all they have known. Its sad. I have giving my friends rides and some get genuinely frightened at the power. Not to even mention 90% of the "kids" I went to colledge with could not even do their own laundry let alone change a flat tire or turn a wrench. They think "ill just pay someone to do it". It frightens me for the future with less and less actually interesting cars on the road. Mainly because I wont have anyone to drag race :(

My 12 1SS vert out the door was 36,500. That v6 is 4 grand more than I paid. And a comparable vert would be almost 15 grand more. Where is my incentive to get out of my car and into a new one that would be considerably priced higher than I paid for mine. That is the reason the 6th gen sales are tanking.

Almost everyone I know under 35 is either struggling under massive student loan debt or trying to raise children on two less than ideal incomes. Admittedly I live in the poorest county in NY but I'm sure it's a reflection of many other young men and women. Not ideal for high end car buying.

I'm 46(considered older) and I can afford it, I make very good money but it is a mass produced product and I refuse to pay list price or MSRP ..... if they throw me a bone every now and then like the 20%, more frequently on current cars not just ones that have been sitting for years(sarcasm), I'd buy one ..... heck GM has I think over 100 days of inventory they are sitting on, is it better to sell at a sale price or let those cars sit and rot for 4 or 6 more months ....

You need to find a new dealer then. I special ordered a '17 SS 1LE and got thousands off of sticker. There are many ways to get discounts besides just haggling, like supplier, Costco, educator, etc, etc.
