I am about to pull the trigger on a scat pack challenger. low 12 1/4 mile (11s on DRs with the right conds), huge trunk, and a backseat I can shove my kids into for a 5 hour drive without having to listen to them whine the whole way about the legroom (Im 6'3). All of that for just a smidge under 40k.

Please, Please Please Camaro 6, match the Caddy ATS rear leg room at around 33.5, drop some LB's and add 50hp and an 8sp to at least make it a decision.

From the recent ATS-V review I saw recently, leg room in the rear is non-existent just like in the 5th gen.

You do realize that the Camaro will be larger than the ATS, right? You also just asked for the Camaro to be bigger (roomier), lighter, faster, and cheaper than the ATS.

If you get bigger, lighter, and faster, you can bet it won't be cheaper. I think best case scenario for the 6th gen Camaro is a little bigger, weighs about the same, power is about the same, and less expensive.

I will say though that the Challenger makes quite the impression as a DD. While the performance guys are down on its size, I think that's what makes it the most livable of the three muscle cars. I'm deciding between a Camaro and Challenger myself, so I'm patiently waiting for the Camaro reveal to make the decision.

Im really impressed with the 392 as well. I just watched an episode of "Gas Monkey Garage" where they took the 392 out. Damn that car looks sharp. And just now on my way into work i was behind a new 5.0, The rear of that car is stunning, and i have never been a mustang fan. Im a GM guy, (4 4th Gens, 2 C6's, 12' CTSV, 2 Grand Nationals in 15 years) But the brand loyalty is starting to thin. I really love the new Z06 but the responsible side of me says a need the rear seat to take my 1YO out with me and the wife once in a while. This car will only be a weekend cruiser but i still like to spend the weekends with my family.

How exactly have you determined the Camaro will be bigger than an ATS? Front floor pan is not changing. It is part of the Alpha architecture. If it's bigger, it will simply be from where the wheels are relative to the architecture and the sheetmetal that covers it.

I should have phrased my statement differently. That is my guess based on all of the rumors suggesting that the Camaro would be larger than the ATS as well as those who have seen both side by side saying the 6th gen wasn't much smaller than the 5th gen.

Afraid you will not get what you are looking for. The Camaro and Mustang rear seating has always been "impractical" for the average American. The new Camaro will not improve on that. The Challenger is your best bet if backseat room for kids over 10 is what you require. This is why the Challenger really is not a pony car anymore but a Gran Touring car, it has usable backseat room for adults and good size trunk. Course if you need that kind of room, why not get the Scat Pack Charger. Just as good and easier to get in and out of.

Buy the Challenger, If you need to travel distance with or without people its a very comfortable car, Has Street presents you can push it around. And on long drives you can close the windows and cruise for hours with the Radio on low and still talk to people in the car.

I never understood this with the Mustang and Camaro. How there can be no rear seat room? A 3 series coupe or any number of compact and sub-compact cars can find room for a rear seat for at least smallish adults.

I thought I had read the 6th gen was going to be longer than the ATS, but not as large as the CTS.

It won't be as big as a Challenger though. Good for some, bad for others.

I wouldn't expect low 12's from a stock 392 though. Mid 12's, low 12's with DR's is the norm in good conditions.

This! In one of the first press releases were the Alpha chassis was displayed it was noted the the chassis is longer for the sixth gen Camaro than what is used on the ATS.

I think the rear seats are only there for classification purposes. Also who cares.
