My God I never realized how terrible the Camaro is in comparison, all because of one thing...

The cupholders in that Mustang are offset to the right of the console so that you can actually use them while driving. Why can't GM do this?!
time to trade in.

I noticed that and immediately thought how cup holders and "track car" go together like peanut butter and soy sauce. But....im a little jelly.

This guy could have used a cup holder in his track car...

Never though I would see it again in this lifetime. We are fortunate to have such amazing performance cars once again, and to "top it off" gas is now affordable! My thoughts:
  • I think the Z/28 is a much better looking car but I do like the interior of the new Mustangs better.
  • Overall I think the performance of this car will be on par with the Z/28 and maybe a little better.
  • I also think the cost for the GT350R will be about the same or very close to the cost of the Z/28
  • About time this car hits the market and is thoroughly tested the Z/28 will no longer be in production.
  • This GT350R was built as Ford's answer to the Z/28. I also believe they wouldn't have taken it this far if the Z/28 wasn't built by GM
  • IMO Ford followed GM's lead on this car. They let GM test the waters and they followed suit.
I think what it's all going to boil down too is which brand/brand model you like better (for brand loyalists), and what looks/interior/options appeal to you the best because I think the performance for most drivers/owners of both cars wont be noticeably different. Now, in the hands of professionals, there could be differences.

Nothing set yet but rumor is GT350 will be $52-53k and the R package about $20k making it low 70s.

Yes... and it's not in the 101 fastest times while Z/28 is at # 38 and ZL1 is at 47. No Shelby of ANY kind on the list.

Couldn't be because Ford doesn't release Nurburgring times..could it?

Nah, couldn't be that.
