For those leasing (or Becky): what residual and MF are you seeing?

Anyone know what the current residuals are on the 2016 SS and what kind of money factor is GM offering? I looked at a GMC Canyon today and it had a 61% residual after 36 months with 12k miles/year which I found to be pretty good. They quoted me a .0005 MF in their office and they knew I wasn't going to buy today but I think that sounds almost too good to be true so I doubt it's real. I expect the MF on the new Camaro will be higher. Thanks!

I have been to dealerships and contacted Becky.

No lease numbers yet. Ive been trying every day to get this info, as soon as i find out what the numbers are, I will be ready to pull the trigger, provided my payments aren't outrageous.

BMW is leasing 4 series coups for 349-399 a month. It will be difficult to justify paying that much for a camaro lease.

Dude, your a little off. The residual factor for the SS will be 60%
No car on the current market gets above 61%.

Maybe not, but the companies will boost them to move units. The Challenger Scat Pack was using a 67% residual for 36 month, 12k mile per year lease.

I have also seen Lexus use a 71% residual on a 39 month lease as a special for the IS.

Becky,

How can the general public find out the residual factors?
Is there some website out there?

If you ask the dealerships are they typically a little reluctant on telling the customer OR can they just tell you?

Becky,

For the new V6 2016 Camaro I'm thinking 58% or 59% residual factor, what do you think?

I was about to say, '16 Charger SP are going for 64% on a 36mo lease. Definitely interested to see how close the Camaros are to that. '16 Mustang GT Premiums are only going for 56%.

There are plenty of vehicles in the 61% or higher range out there. Like I said, the 2016 Canyon is 61% with 12k miles.

I don't usually think, I'd rather see. I would expect we'll see them tomorrow. The residual % shouldn't be any mystery. You apply a % to the MSRP based on the term and miles. No reason for a dealer not to share it. The money factor is a little more complex unless you know how to calculate a lease. Even then, it's best to discuss it with the dealer once it's calculated and understand if your payments include tax, or if you are paying them out of pocket. There's really nothing to hide.

With how many thousands down though?

I don't know, I just don't see the point in leasing unless it's something your job pays for. All that money down, then all those payments with nothing to show for it at the end? I guess it can get you in a car you may not have enough money to put down on for a reasonable purchase payment though...

There are tons of great reasons to lease if you know what you're doing. You never want to put money down on a lease. I'm not going to get into why leasing is a good option as I have before on this forum and you can just look at my post history if you want. Do your research before deciding if a lease is right or wrong for you.

And choosing leasing simply because you want a lower monthly payment is probably the worst reason.
