Elite catch can installed! Have a question
I put the Teflon tape on the elbow fittings that screw into catch can per instructions. But I could only get them to screw in about a 1/3 of the way. This left about 2/3 of the threads on the fittings sticking out from the catch can. I thought it might be the Teflon tape causing this so I tried screwing one in without it and it got tight about a 1/3 of the way in like the other. Is this normal?

Yes mine did not go all the way down either, but had my son rev the throttle and no leaks. If leaking you will get a check engine light.

Tape, yours came with tape? I just screwed mine in with no tape and it is fine. |

Same here... I really had to work to get the elbow on the side to tighten up to an angle I was happy with. Can works great!

Yeah that sounds about right, you did screw them in using a tool ad not just your hand right?

Yeah I used a wrench to get them as tight as I could at the correct angle. Just seemed weird to have so much thread left sticking out.

No, mine didn't come with tape, but I happened to have some. The instructions said to seal the threads with Teflon tape.

I feel like a tool but I have a rx catch can with three tips on it. Can some one help me with puting the hoses to the right spot?
I lost my directions. Thanks |

They are pipe threads so they will not screw all the way in. Pipe threads are tapered and literally wedge as they tighten up.
Our catch cans which are not available just yet have O-ring fittings so the fitting sits flush. Instead of hose clams and pipe nipples we use AN fittings and push lock hose. |

Just installed mine Saturday OP. Same thing as you with and without the teflon tape. Running fine.

Check for leaks with your mouth. Blow or suck (depending on which side you are testing) and make sure. If you dont hear or feel anything, then you're good.
The system doesnt have as much pressure as you might think, so it doesnt need to screw down farther than that |
