Mud Flaps

Just bought my 2017 SS. I always put mud flaps on my cars to reduce paint chips on rear quarter and rocker panels.

The dealer has painted ones to match the car, but they are spendy, like $250.

Anybody have experience with those?

Is there a good aftermarket set?

I put them on mine. They are not very big but do a good job holding down the road grime and they look great on the car. And yes they are pricey but worth it for looks and reduced road grime in my humble opinion.

You can get them a little cheaper from one of the online GM suppliers. Aftermarket will only be black and may look huge by comparison, so it depends on what paint color you have.

Don't do it. Do the gm splash guards, they do help some. They other mud flaps look, well I won't say it. Just look at the color match splash guards.

Splash guards don't look like truck mud flaps. Mud flaps hang down and outside.

I have the RPI ones on the rear of my car. Since my car is black they're barely noticeable. I has the rpi ones for the front but took them off. They made lots of noise at highway speeds.

I found them on GMPartsDirect for $98.44 per pair, which is a better price. Ordered today.

My paint is Nightfall Gray, so black plastic would probably be OK. The painted ones should look great, though!

Did you put them on yourself? If so, are they pretty easy? Do you have to pull the wheels off?

They were simple to install. I took the wheels off as it makes it a simple job.
