Ya'll know you can set everything separately, right? Here's what I found to be the best settings when I drove the car:

Steering: Sport
Suspension: Touring
Exhaust: Track
Trans/Throttle (the main switch): Track

This gives you a very responsive car with great ride quality, a nice sound, and just right steering.

That is awesome and I like your setup. I was just wondering if there might be a quick way to switch to stealth exhaust without having to navigate the menus.

I noticed there might be occasions when you want to keep things quiet

Thanks

You would have to leave the exhaust set to auto so it would change with drive modes. Or get something like mild to wild controller to have independent control yourself.

newbie here...considering joining the 6 club.

does the car default to the last selected mode upon restart? Is the preference linked to the memory settings?

It defaults to tour or sport only depending on which mode you left it in.

I have noticed another difference that I haven't seen anywhere.

Now it could just be me I don't know, but if you have the M6 the clutch engagement is different. Mostly TOUR mode vs SPORT and TRACK. In TOUR mode the clutch doesn't seem to 'grab' or engage as hard or as aggressive as the others.

Like I said it might just be me, but I swear I can feel a difference.

You cannot change the modes. You can only set a manual setting for suspension, steering, exhaust if applicable.

It is not the clutch grabbing differently but you may be experience the less aggressive throttle response of Tour mode that seems to affect your throttle and clutch engagement a bit. Sport and track modes have more sensitive/responsive throttle response so you are more than likely delivering more throttle while engaging the clutch.

Would have been awesome if they had a selectable "User Defined" setup. That way you can mix and match your favorite config and still access the other modes with the Modes button quickly. I.E. Stealth, Touring, Sport, Snow/Ice, User Defined..

This is just speculation...but I think Competitive Mode also stops the engine going to v4 mode. I could be wrong...but that's my guess at what it means by "full engine power". There's no benefit to it popping in and out of fuel saving modes when you're on a track, although I can't imagine it'd ever drop out of v8 mode anyway unless you're taking it ridiculously easy. (by track I mean circuit)

Another thing to note, if you want to completely disable TC and Active Handling, you need to hold down the TC button for like 7 seconds. Then it will rip the tires off and do donuts all day.

I watched a video with some asshat reviewer that said the new SS was a dog and couldnt even do a donut. Im positive he didnt know how to disable the TC/AH not just put it into comp driving mode.

I wish there was a technical and detailed matrix of EXACTLY what happens to the car in every mode. There seems to be a ton of overview and high level information, but nothing granular for every mode. I've read the manual, and it gives the "need to know" information.

I love all the modes and can really feel the difference between them. I use Touring for my commute, Sport if I'm in the mood during my commute or if traffic is light, Snow/Ice when it rains (it really does help keep the rear end planted) and I very happily engage full Track and Competitive mode when on a Canyon without traffic or on the Track. The difference is remarkable and I can't imagine driving the car aggressively in Touring mode, though I'm sure I could...
