New battery huge performance gain

So I had been out of the country for 3 yrs and I returned 10 months ago. The car was stored in my fathers garage he started it every 2-3 months and drove it for 15 min. When I drove it did not seem like the beast it use to be so I rebuilt the meth system put JRE tensioner on and found a vacuum leak. It got better and better with each tweak. This is what has me baffled it had the original battery from 2010 and was slow starting so I got a new battery and put it in and boy o boy it is back and better than ever my thoughts were the meth system was not getting full juice and not spraying or opening the solenoid cause it was not using much meth at all but I dont know any ideas how the battery could make such a difference. Thanks for any input .........

Did you notice a change on your voltage gauge? Possibly the alternator was struggling with charging a bad battery? Never heard of this before, but interested to see what others think?

I had read somewhere that if you have a dead cell and you are not putting out enough Amps it will cause all sorts of problems and with my meth setup if it is not getting 13v it will not open the solenoid to spray the pump just gets hydrolock. That is the only thing I can think of because the new battery made a huge difference

Of course it could have been the tweaks you were making, or stale fuel, but modern cars can act very strangely when battery voltage is not up to par. Surprised you didn't get the dreaded "Stabilitrack" warning, and a dash lit up like a Christmas tree.

I use to get the Stabilitrac all the time when going WOT changed the plugs and wires and still got it. Like I was saying I think when the car warmed up that's when it seemed sluggish and the meth system did not have enough amps or volts and the solenoid would not let the meth flow cause now I am seeing a 3-5 degree drop in coolant temp which is what meth does when spraying,Then again it just cooled off here in So Cal maybe it is the cool dense air Who knows I am happy it is back to its old self .....T http://www.hotrod.com/articles/top-10-electrical-fixes/

Maybe meth wasn't spraying fully and car was pulling timing

Yes EV!L SS that is what I think was happening, The battery was the cause of a lot of problems I noticed today when driving that my amp is not crackling it use to crackle and I thought the amp was bad but turns out it was running out of power or amps. So simple fix solved a lot of problems

I just replaced my 7 year old battery a few weeks ago and I noticed I got some power back. Better response overall. Starts better. Went with an AGM battery.

We all know after your first couple months of driving a FI car you are use to the power and you think it is not as fast as when I first got the car back but you are actually just use to the power, But with my new battery it was very noticeable more than when I installed the super tensioner but I believe now the meth system if finally working 100% and now my volts are at 14.1 always

im having a low voltage "service recharging system" warning and going into battery saver mode.

changed alternator for a brand new OEM unit and the battery is pretty new.

still have the problem.
