Camaro Nose Stripe

Hello, I’ve been trying to figure out how to get a nose stripe to work on my LT1.

As you all know, nose stripes were an option on the 1st gen Camaros. An example of a black 1st gen with a white nose stripe has been included below.

I’ve seen some 5th gens with their own version of a nose stripe, but some look better than others. Edelbrock also took a stab at it with their 6th gen supercharged V6 test car. I’ve included photos of both.

I made some crude photoshopped examples of my car with a possible nose stripe, but I want to get some opinions over the execution of it.

I’ve included my car as stock as a baseline, then made some mock ups.

Just my opinion, but I don’t think the nose stripe works on the newer generations. It was cool on the first gens, but some things just don’t translate very well.

I personally don't like nose stripes on a 6 gen. The photo shop versions are definitely a big NO.

Not a fan either but it’s your car to do what you want to do.

Makes it look like you put a replacement part on the car and can't afford to get it painted.

Your car, your choice. For me, it does not have that “wow” factor, looks like just an out of place add on. I think the rally stripes on the hood and over the cowl look far better on this design.

That’s also what I think, but I just feel like I’m missing SOMETHING with these designs. Like if I just move a line to exactly the right place it’ll look good. But all of the examples I’ve provided including my own miss the mark.

Like the Edelbrock car, I think you can make this general concept work, but only by having the design stripe backwards along the fender and door... but not necessarily in exactly that same way.

IMHO it does look better on the 5th vs 6th. I have had the 6th gen and contemplated this design but could not picture it...thanks for your examples. Instead of wrapping around the lights have you tried just bringing them down the side and wrapping it at the bottom?

Have to agree with others. Not my thing, but it's your car.

I think it fits because of the body lines on the Gen1 and that's it.

It works on the Edelbrock 16-18 grill. But the later grill are just ugly and have a creepy looking grin like a halloween pumpkin. I would suggest just going with your basic rally hood stripes.
