If I took that idea to the government, do you think I'd be able to get a $1 billion green energy subsidy/grant?

i'll never choose/buy a camaro with a 4 cyl. only consideration would be the new 3.6 twin turbo that just got out at 420hp it's ok. but still, i would have a choice: v8 rules.
if they come to a 4 cyl,and nothing else.. time to choose other brands.

4 cylinder and nothing else????

I don't understand how or why you might even possibly think that.

let's say that gas rises up again like crazy at 7 to 9$ a gallon..{ lots of people were looking to sell their cars to get cheaper transporation when gas prices went up last year or so....}or we are in the year 2045 we never know the camaro could exist only with a few 4 bangers but with different taste.. i hope we don't get to that. ..maybe we'll have a camaro hybrid.. hope really not.
i really hope ,it will have always have a v8 standard or optional for us consumers.

Furthermore, my 1994 Camaro was a v6 when I bought it. I'm now one of the most passionate Camaro enthusiasts you'll meet. I run a Michigan-based Camaro and Firebird website with over 2300 members, I host a 300+ Camaro and Firebird specific car show every year, go to a ton of shows through the "car show season" in Michigan, registered on basically every Camaro forum on the internet, etc. Because of my '94 Camaro v6, I am likewise passionate about General Motors in general which made me work extra hard to get a job at General Motors world headquarters in Detroit. I eat, breathe, sleep GM and Camaro. I cannot imagine NOT owning at least one Camaro now for the rest of my life... And all that because of a v6...

So when I found out I could afford a 5th gen if I went with the base, 1LS model... Yeah, I didn't hesitate.
Well Said!!!!! It's a Camaro and it would be boring if we all drove around in the kind of Camaro. I have a 15 year old son that wants to drive a new Camaro and I would consider a 4 cyl for him. That's the only way he would drive one.

to calculate fuel demand for n/a engines, you use .5 as your multiplier.
For boosted engines you use .6 ie they take more fuel per given hp. That said they do idle/ part throttle more efficiently due to less idle vacuum. And no I would rather have a hamster in a wheel than a 4 cyl. engine turbo or otherwise.
