Prospective ZL-1 owner with a couple of questions

Hi Everyone:

I'm 99% sure I'll be ordering a 2018 ZL-1 in April, after I get some other pressing matters sorted, like my pending divorce. It's pretty hard to believe you can buy a genuine supercar for $68,000. I'm really stoked.

I have frequented motorcycle forums for years, and every motorcycle seems to have some sort of weakness or issues that forum members discover, and they and the aftermarket figure out the solutions for those weaknesses.

Lurking here, and now joining the forum, I don't seem to be able to find any issues with this car. Seems very solid. Are there any issues with this car that need correcting? I see many owners modify their cars, but that seems more for personal preference.

I'm going to add a ported throttle body and some blacked-out taillights, but that's about it.

Your feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Nothing major to report, I have about 4500 miles on mine, I had the loose front sway bar noise, I currently have a rattle from the 'back dash' that I need to find and stop.

The headliners are cut too narrow is the only issue that there really isn’t an easy fix for that I’m aware of. Did they fix that on the 2018s?!??

Sounds like pretty minor issues that they have probably sorted out by now. I think I also saw on YouTube some of the the first ones had front springs that were too tall.

The launch issue in the M6 version is somewhat of an issue, especially if you plan on drag racing the car. The seat also doesn't recline as much as I'd like, but that I can overlook. There's no issue that would stop me from buying the car again.

Thanks for that. I'm going for the 10 speed auto, so the launch issues I have seen with the manual are not concerning me.

I checked out the seat recline, and it goes far back enough for me.

I second the seat recline is insufficient compared to other Gm products I own. The biggest interior grip I have is that. On the exterior misaligned body panels are noticeable, such as front facia or rear quarter but this is not common on all 6 th generation Camaro's. So far the drivetrain is top notch the 10 speed shifts feels much better than 6l80E.

Just picked up a ZL1 1LE myself. Traded in my E92 M3 for it and zero regrets. Chevy has really done an amazing job with the 6th gen. Anyone who sits inside doesn't believe it's a Chevy product lol. Interior fit and finish is great. The headliner issue is the only thing I noticed on the interior. ZL1 exterior looks are amazing IMO. With all the amenities this car comes with it's an amazing deal and package. Congrats on your purchase

It is by far one of the two best cars I have ever owned. It handles amazingly. It is fast as all hell. It looks gorgeous. It is rock solid. I have had no issues in mine...A10. It turns heads. It has every option you can imagine. I have nothing negative to say about the 6th Gen ZL1!! You will love it!!
