2017 ZL1 With 740 HP From Callaway

Found this and wanted to post it courtesy of GM Authority and Sean Szymkowski:

Callaway has a long history of taking already-potent Chevrolet Camaros and Corvettes and handing out even greater power. The performance house has already shed light on what it can do for potential customers looking for more from their shiny, new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
According to Motor Authority, Callaway will hop the power up to 740 hp, an additional 110 ponies over the standard 650 hp, with the Callaway Camaro SC740 Package. “740” stands for the power, “SC” stands for supercharged. However, this all comes at a price.
Callaway will charge $17,995 over the base price of the ZL1, which rings in at $62,135. After all is said and done, that’s over $80,000. But the traditional Callaway trimmings will be present, including badging and more.
Callaway will release finalized power numbers and information in the near future after Chevrolet begins delivering the ZL1 to eager customers. The cars will come with a Callaway supercharger system and be assembled in either California or Connecticut.

Callaway...read....RIP OFF!!!! Same thing with the Vette. You can get over that horsepower yourself with just a few grand. Some will say but it has a warranty....maybe...probably 3 yr 36k at best. I don't know what you could not fix with 18 grand.....

Another thing you will get is a higher Valued car. It's about the name yes, but just not more horsepower. It's long life horsepower. When I had my last ZL1 tuned? I said I don't want the Max you can wring from its neck, but 100k mile reliability. You need to have quality tuners adjusting your PCM. One guy might want to sacrifice the reliability to get cheaper ponies. Calloway does some serious engineering. 18k? Too rich for my blood or I would have sprung for a ZR1 .. blue collar guy, blue collar car... blue collar HP!!

One thing I found out yesterday that LT4 uses a 1.7 liter SC and not 2.3. So the question is, are they putting a 2.3 SC or change pulley on the 1.7 and run it faster?

According to Motor Trend, it uses a larger blower:

I think blower swaps will be the norm for this Car with the high HP fanatic. More options out there compared to the C7Z with hood clearance issues. Would like to know how much clearance the Gen6 ZL1 has from factory blower lid to hood insert.

Agree the Callaway is overpriced. Interested in results with TVS2300 blower though. I think the Gen6 ZL1 will have tremendous head room for years to come for tuner shops.

Callaway

18,000 to replace one supercharger with another? Question; what's better, factory installed or aftermarket?

Anybody have any experience with Lingenfelter. From what I've heard any engine mods void 5 year, 60000 mile drive train warranty.

...Yeah, not good publicity to start off by not knowing how to add and subtract...(740hp - 650hp is 90, not 110hp bump)....

The other mystery 20hp might come from the badging package.....
