Thought launch control recommended 4k.

Says here "if you use it your warranty won't be voided."

Also, good write up on Launch Control mode.

Dealer will fix, but do not tell them you were drag racing at race track.

Launch control uses some algorithms when you launch to limit wheel slip and get you the best launch it can. Its not just holding at 4000 rpm and when you dump the clutch it gives it everything, its more sophisticated than that.

Send a message via MSN to Scott@Bjorn3D
1LE is not warrantied for drag strip and GM has only announced that the ZL1 is track warrantied and SS's even with 1LE do not carry that warranty.

Just from reading in my SS owners manual when I put my car in comp mode, the manual says this mode could void my warranty.

FYI, never tell the dealers the "truth" unless you are personal friends with the service manager like my father is at a dealer in ohio. They said, tune it, mod it, bring it by when it breaks, they will take care of it.

Good luck.

Launch control is bunk! I can beat its launch with much less wear n tear on drive line.

A road race package has zero to do with drag launches. The 1LE is not a drag car and has nothing to do with dragging. None of the components were selected/designed for the drag strip.
