Interested as well, running a booster currently but the seatbelt buckle is a hassle to deal since the booster gets in the way. I'd prefer a more real seat regardless.

Is there such thing as a seatbelt extension? I think that would make buckling up your little one easier. Might not be a thing though.

Ok, I took a quick peek at this one. I'm going to add another requirement to my wish list which I didnt mention before (sorry to hijack the thread a bit but I am guessing this might be of more general interest).
My son is 5. He seems to be sort of at an in-between height where his legs are too long to have them comfortably just pointing forward but too short for his legs to bend at a normal 90 degree angle. As a result, he gets a half bend of his legs which puts his feet into the tightest area between the front seat and the back seat cushion. Long story short, I'm looking for a car seat with a very flat seat portion. Ultimately, to solve the issue, I think he just needs to get taller, but the Alpha Omega looks like it will tilt him a bit further back and lift up his knees, which would not be helpful. I have a Diono Radian in my wife's MDX that looks like it may be a better option but I think the back rest might be too tall. |

This
My son is 1.4 years and this is perfect, I don't put his shoes on until we're where we need to be and pass. May be a bit closer to dash but past that works great for the ZL1. http://www.gracobaby.com/products/pa...ove-isaac.aspx I also have this thing sitting on top of a seat cover which made it fit SUPER snug in the car, like almost no leeway when trying to shake it lmao Edit: If that is too small try Recaro? I've seen good things about those.

Ours fits forward facing now that our grand daughter is old enough. Rear facing is tough.

I was initially interested in this as well but from what I have read these are not allowed for use on car seats and booster seats because they put the buckle in the wrong location. They are meant for obese people where the belt isnt long enough. By all means, research independently and make up your own mind. This is one thing that I am not willing to chance it with personally. God forbid something happened I could never live with myself. At any rate, I will probably end up buying another real car seat and using the harness instead, which will solve the issue with accessing the buckle with booster in the car.

I understand the concern. Don't by the 11" one, obviously. It does take a little bit of common sense on which one to purchase and for what purpose. The booster seat also has seat belt guides on the top and bottom end to make sure the belt is in the correct position for the passenger. It all depends on what size you get and what car you put it in for what purpose. The Camaro's seat belt buckle is buried into the seat vs my family suv which sticks up quiet a bit. I bought the 3" one. All it did was raise it a bit so you can access it, it's pretty much the same height as the SUV. The seat belt buckle position/height is now the same as the SUV or normal cars.
