Not camaro related but ls question
Ok so I'm helping a friend put a 5.3 truck engine in his 74 Stingray. Car has the factory th400 in it. What do I need to adapt the engine and trans together?

New flexplate, crank spacer. Fairly certain it will bolt up, although you may have a couple unused bolt holes.
There is certainly more to this, but that's what I know of. I think Bo White is running a TH400 in his Camaro, so maybe PM him?

I have a 5.3L in my 2004 Silverado and love it. 150k miles and no problems. The show Iron Resurrection just put a used 5.3 and matching trans in an old Metro van. Not sure why you drop in a plant that doesn’t marry up to your trans. Good luck!

You're either looking at an adapter kit like mentioned above, or you get a TH400 that's designed to bolt up to an LS-style block.
