I had hoped to purchase the new ats-v but unfortunately it's not in my budget. So I'm now torn between a used cts-v coupe and the next gen camaro. I currently drive a mustang GT and I was thoroughly disappointed with the looks of the 2015 mustang. So I figured I why not try owning a GM vehicle for once.

Most definitely getting one. I am however going to try my hardest to get a 2017 MY at the end of that production year. Has nothing to do with worry over first year issues and everything to do with price. I didn't get hardly anything off my 2010 when I bought it in 2009. Dealers felt they were doing me a huge favor just offering the car for MSRP. Not going through that again. I am going to try and wait until the demand comes down with some good discounts. I say that now but of course I could end up caving in. Lol.

I'm in the market, but it would need to be really impressive to make it to the top of my list

Not at all: Z28 has the 12K$ carbon brakes, F1 type shocks, expensive aero and optional AC, no radio, some weight reduction, different wheels tires, beefier drivetrain and more cooling, dry sump, custom CAI...etc
All this adds up and make the Z28 too expensive. Like I said, a stock 1LE with ZL1 brakes and LS7 with beefier drivetrain would be way cheaper and would destroy almost anything on a track.

We have to understand not every one wants a 1LE as a DD. Those F1 G2 tires are very agressive and you have to hold on tight to that steering wheel at all time. Top performer like a 1LE gives the Camaro a good rep, but its not their top seller. I could not buy another Camaro without the 1LE package unless the next gen is very close to it. The 1LE is the best car I ever had...for now. Just need a LL solid roller and ported heads in it now.

Now to get back on topic, I'm real interested in the 6th gen but I doubt I'll own the first year. I also told myself I'd never not have a Camaro after my 1st 5th gen back a few years ago, so who knows.

I ordered a Mustang a few months ago, since I'm disappointed in the look of the 6th gen and nevertheless it wont come out in germany before 2017 I guess

I worked very hard, sacrificing all manner of a social life and self-indulgence for two years to get my 2011 SS. I plan on being one of those "30 years from now original owner" stories with it, lmao.
Primarily, though, it's because from what I've seen with the camo shots, I'm not particularly keen on the 6th gen's lines so far. I don't think I'll like how it looks. We'll know for sure soon, though. |
