Transmission swap auto to manual

So, I've never owned a manual car, but thanks to a great local camaro club member, I do now have some knowledge on how to drive a stick. I've fallen in love with it and don't see how I use to drive my Z with it. Since I have an auto Z, am I screwed now? Without having to trade or sell. I've even contemplated on going to the dealer and telling them I want a manual instead now and that I've made a mistake :(. I don't know what to do now

If it is that important - Trade it in for a manual. Swap will cost too much and take too long (if it is even possible without some major, major work).

The auto is faster, work the paddle shifts and drive it aggressively in manual and you unleash hammer mode. This auto is amazing

Trade it in. A swap is a bad idea. Just make sure that you drive a manual more, before making the switch.

Swapping to manual will require cutting a hole for the shifter, installing new pedals, possibly modifying your harness for your new tranny, a few sensors & I probably missed a few things... I'd guesstimate around 6-10k.....

Id suggest waiting for the 6th gen zl1 & trade it.....

The best way to go from an auto to a manual is to sell or trade what you currently have.

Put a stall in it, a good trans tune, and start using the paddle shifters. It's no manual, but it will be fun as hell.

A higher stall rating will make you car hit harder from stop. A trans tune will firm up the shifts and make it shift quicker. You need to pick somebody that's good at the trans tune as a bad tune can fry your trans. Yank, Circle D, and FTI make damn good converters. With a roots style blower I would probably do something in the 2400-2800 stall speed range. Basically that means when you floor it from a stop the rpm's will come up to stall speed and you will start accelerating. It gets you in the powerband quicker allowing for quicker acceleration.

Here's a link to the Yank: http://www.converter.cc/ZL1_CAMARO_s/112.htm
